작업장 내 공간 사용성에 따른 안전색채 적용 표지물 제안 (A Proposal for the Signal of Safety Color according to Space Usability in the Workplace)

초록

(연구 배경 및 목적) 국가통계포털의 통계에 따르면 산업재해로 분류되어 산업현장에서 발생하는 사망자 수는 2014년부터 2017년까지는 평균 1,800명을 유지하다, 2018년부터 현재까지 평균 2,100명으로 점점 늘어나고 있는 추세이다. 위와 같은 산업재해를 최소화하기 위해 작업 공간 내에는 안전 표지판, 안전문구 등의 안전에 관한 표지물들이 공간의 곳곳에 설치되어 있으며, 표지물에 따라 글씨, 그림 등의 표현 수단을 통해 공간 이용자의 행동을 유도하고 판단하게 한다. 본 연구에서는 연구 대상지인 원자력 발전소의 주출입구와 작업 공간에 설치되어 있는 안전 표지물의 표현 수단 중 색채에 중점을 맞춰 공간에 적합한 표지물을 제안 및 평가하는데 그 목적이 있다. (연구방법) 연구 방법은, 첫째, 이론적 고찰을 통해 안전색채를 규정하는 자료와 안전색채를 적용한 기존 안전표지물에 대해 조사하고, 선행연구와의 비교를 통해 본 연구의 필요성을 고취하였다. 둘째, 연구 대상 선정 후, 연구 대상에 대한 분석을 통해 현재 안전표지물이 적용된 공간을 선정하고 그 공간 내 설치된 안전 표지물 자료를 수집하였다. 셋째, 안전 표지물 분석을 위해 인지성, 일관성 평가를 진행하고, 공간 사용자 대상 설문조사 및 인터뷰를 통해 대상물의 문제점을 분석하였다. 넷째, 평가결과를 바탕으로 공간에 적합한 색채와 표현수단이 적용된 안전표지물을 제안하고, 이를 대상자 기반 평가를 진행하였다. (결과) 근로자 대상 안전 인식 및 안전정보 관련 데이터 취합 및 평가지표를 통한 현재 설치돼 있는 안전 표지물 문제점 도출 결과를 통해 선정된 주출입구와 작업공간 공간에 대한 자료를 취합한 결과를 바탕으로 각 공간에 적합한 새 안전 표지물을 제안 및 평가하였다. 새 안전 표지물의 근로자 평가를 기반으로 색채 부분에 있어서 빨강과 초록의 표시가 가장 인지성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 작업장 및 현장 상황에 맞춰 단순히 색채의 변화만이 아닌, 형광 소재 같은 색채가 지닌 특수성을 활용해야 한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. (결론) 본 연구에서는 공간 내의 안전표지물의 색채 사용을 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 근로자의 의견과 기존 사인물의 문제점을 포용할 수 있는 안전표지물을 제안 및 평가하였다. 실증연구를 통한 결과가 아닌 연구 대상지의 사용자 의견 및 경험을 기준으로 연구를 진행하였기에, 추후 다양한 연구 방법을 통해 더욱 심층적인 결과를 도출할 수 있도록 할 것이며, 그 외 여러 공간에서 안전표지물의 색채가 사용자에게 어떠한 영향을 끼치는지에 대한 후속 연구가 필요할 것이다. 안전 표지물 색채 활용에 있어서 본 연구가 기초 자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) According to statistics from the National Statistical Portal, the average number of deaths at industrial sites classified as industrial accidents remained an average of 1,800 people from 2014 to 2017 and has been increasing to an average of 2,100 people from 2018 to the present. In order to minimize the above industrial accidents, safety signs such as safety signs and safety phrases are installed throughout the space, and the behavior of space users is induced and judged through expression means such as letters and pictures depending on the cover. The purpose of this study is to propose and evaluate space-appropriate markers focusing on color among the means of expression of safety signs installed at the main entrance and workspace of the nuclear power plant, which is the study target. (Method) First, the research method investigated data defining safety colors and existing safety signs applying safety colors through theoretical consideration and encouraged the necessity of this study through comparison with previous studies. Second, after selecting the research subject, the space to which the current safety signs were applied was selected through analysis of the research subject, and the data on the safety signs installed in the space were collected. Third, cognitive and consistency evaluations were conducted to analyze safety markers, and problems with objects were analyzed through surveys and interviews with spatial users. Fourth, based on the evaluation results, safety signs with appropriate colors and expression means suitable for space were proposed, and subject-based evaluation was conducted. (Results) New safety signs suitable for each space were proposed and evaluated based on data on the selected main entrance and workspace through data collection and evaluation indicators related to safety awareness and safety information for workers. Based on the worker evaluation of the new safety sign, the red and green marks were found to be the most recognizable in the color part. In addition, it was found that the specificity of colors such as fluorescent materials should be utilized, not just changes in colors according to the workplace and field conditions. (Conclusions) In this study, the color use of safety signs in space was analyzed, and based on this, safety signs that can embrace workers' opinions and problems with existing autographs were proposed and evaluated. Since the study was conducted based on user opinions and experiences of the research target site, it will be possible to derive more in-depth results through various research methods in the future, and follow-up studies will be needed on how the color of safety signs affects users in various spaces. It is expected that this study will be used as basic data for the use of safety markers.
