초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 미디어 파사드는 건축물의 입면을 물리적으로 고정된 외관에서 예술표현 도구이자 소통 매개로 도시공간을 변화시키고 있다. 빛을 통한 미디어 연출은 건축물과 통합 경관을 형성하여 다양한 정보전달 및 예술적 실험성 표현, 소통과 상징의 공공디자인 역할을 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 현재 미디어 파사드 콘텐츠 연출의 표현 경향을 조사 분석하여 그 의의와 시사점을 찾고, 디자인 방향성을 구축하는데 기초적 자료를 작성하는 것에 있다. (연구방법) 미디어 파사드 콘텐츠 연출의 경향 분석 및 시사점을 밝히기 위해 분석대상은 2018년~2022년 IALD Award, IES Awards, iF Awards, LIT Design Awards, Digital Signage Experience Awards의 미디어 파사드 관련 수상 프로젝트로 한정하였다. 연구방법은 첫째, 선행연구 조사를 비롯한 이론적 연구를 진행하여 본 연구의 당위성을 밝히고자 하였다. 둘째 미디어 파사드 연출 경향 조사를 위해 최근 5년 내에 국제적으로 권위 있는 공모전 수상한 프로젝트를 중심으로 미디어 파사드 콘텐츠 연출의 표현 경향을 조사 분석하여 그 의의와 시사점을 찾자 하였다. 마지막으로 미디어 파사드 연출의 경향을 유형화하고 이를 기반으로 콘텐츠 연출 방향성 도출을 위한 기초적 토대를 마련하였다. (결과) 연구결과로 미디어 파사드의 경관적 의미와 중요성에 대해 이론적 고찰을 진행하여 도시공간에서 미디어 파사드 콘텐츠 연출의 가치와 의의를 밝혔다. 더불어 미디어 파사드 콘텐츠 디자인 현황에 대한 분석하여 미디어 파사드의 콘텐츠 연출 경향 분석을 통해 그 표현특성을 구체화하였다. 분석 과정에서 미디어 파사드 콘텐츠 연출의 시사점을 ① 문화공공재로서의 가치와 활용, ② 디지털 익스피리언스와 공간목적성, ③ 평면연출과 4차원 종합예술문화, ④ 인공지능 기반 콘텐츠 연출의 대중화와 개인화, ⑤ 컨텍스트 큐레이션과 관리체계의 다섯 가지를 도출하였다. (결론) 조명디자인 분야에서는 바라본 미디어 파사드는 물리적 환경에 초점을 두고 미디어 파사드를 통해 무엇을 담을지에 대한 관심은 상대적으로 적었던 것으로 판단된다. 이에 미디어 파사드 콘텐츠 연출의 새로운 시각이 중요성을 담기 위해 표현 경향 분석을 통한 콘텐츠 디자인 연출 방향성을 찾고자 연구를 시작하였다. 연구과정을 통해 콘텐츠 디자인 방향성을 찾기 위한 기초적 토대를 제시한 것에 본 연구의 의의가 있음을 밝힌다.

영어초록

(Research background and purpose) The media facade is changing the urban space from a physically fixed facade to a tool for artistic expression and a medium of communication. Media directing through light form an integrated landscape with buildings, serving as public design for various information delivery, artistic representation, communication and symbolic representation. The purpose of this study is to find its significance and implications on investigating and analyzing the trend of the current media facade content production, and then it is to create basic data to establish a design direction. (Method) In order to analyze the trend of media facade content production and find its implications, the analysis was limited to media facade related projects which are the IALD Award, IES Awards, iF Awards, LIT Design Awards, Digital Signage Experience Awards from 2018 to 2022. As for the research method, firstly, theoretical research including previous research, was conducted to clarify the justification of this study. Second, in order to investigate the trend of directing media facade, the significance and implications were sought by researching and analyzing the expression trend of media facade content production, focusing on projects that have won internationally prestigious competitions within the last 5 years. Lastly, the trend of media facade direction was typified. Based on this, the basic foundation for deriving the direction of content production was prepared. (Results) As a result of the research, it is found the value and significance of media facade content production in urban space. It is presented that the basic foundation for finding the direction of content design. By analyzing the current status of the content design of the next media facade, it is systematized the trend of media facade content production. Therefore, at this paper, five implications of media facade contents design are derived in the analysis process. There are ①Value and utilization as a cultural public property, ② Digital experience and spatial purpose, ③flat presentation and 4-dimensional comprehensive art culture, ④Popularization and personalization of artificial intelligence-based contents, ⑤Context curation and management system. (Conclusion) In the field of lighting design, focusing on the media facade itself, there has been little interest in what to contain through the media facade. Therefore, a study was started to find the importance of a new perspective on the direction of directing media facade contents and the possibility of design directing through analysis of the current situation. The significance of this study is that it raised the importance of content composition and design direction in the field of lighting design through the research process.
