만주국 문학 연구에 관한 일고찰 (The research of the Current status in study of Manchukuo’s Literature)

초록

‘만주국’은 1932년 3월 1일 중국 동북지역에서 세워진 독립 국가로, 식민지 건설이 불가능했던 국제정치적 상황에서 탄생한 일본 제국주의 식민지배의 통치 양식 중 하나였다. 서양 역사에선 ‘괴뢰국’이라 부르고 중국학계에선 불법을 지칭하는 ‘위(僞)’를 붙여 ‘위만주국’이라 부르는데, 일본의 준/반 식민지라는 틀 속에서 ‘억압의 공간’으로 보는 것이 보편적이다. 그러나 만주국이 가진 복잡다단한 성격은 단순히 ‘식민’의 틀을 넘어선 다양한 고찰이 필요하며, 특히 만주국 문학의 연구는 사료의 공백을 메우는 중요한 작업이 된다. 본문은 중국과 국내 만주국 문학 연구와 번역에 대해 정리하고 부족한 부분을 지적하고자 한다.
중국에서 만주국 문학연구는 1980년대 만주국 시기 우파작가들의 명예회복과 1990년대 중반 지역학, 사회학, 문화연구의 활성화 아래 진행되었다. 특히 2000년대 이래 류샤오리는 박사논문 발표 이래, 꾸준히 만주국 문학 연구에 종사하며 2017년에는 총서를 발간하였고, 만주국 문학 창작 이해를 위해 ‘해식문학’의 개념을 제기했다.
한국에서 만주국 문학연구 및 작품 소개는 국문학계나 역사학계에 의해 주로 한인(韓人) 작가들의 작품, 즉 재만한인문학(在滿韓人文學)의 발굴과 소개에 치중해 있으며 중국인 작가의 문학 작품에 대한 번역과 소개는 미진한 상태이다. 한국의 중국문학 연구자들의 만주 문학 연구는 중국 내에선 금기시되어 제한적 진행되는 중국의 만주국 문학 연구와 언어의 한계로 접근이 힘든 한국 국문학계 만주국 관련 연구를 보완하고 새로운 시각을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

Manchukuo was an independent country established in northeastern China on March 1, 1932, and was one of the ruling styles of the Japanese imperialist colonial rule, which was born in an international political situation where colonization was impossible. In Western history, it is called "a puppet state" and in Chinese academia, it is called "伪满洲国" by adding "伪", which refers to illegality. It is common to see it as a "space of repression" in the framework of Japan's quasi-colonial territory. However, the complex and diverse characteristics of Manchukuo require various considerations beyond the framework of simply 'colonial', and in particular, the study of Manchukuo literature becomes an important task to fill the void of historical materials. This article aims to summarize the research and translation of literature in China and Manchuria in Korea and point out the deficiencies.
In China, Manchukuo literature research was conducted under the revival of the reputation of ‘Right-wing writers’ during the Manchukuo period in the 1980s and the revitalization of regional studies, sociology, and cultural research in the mid-1990s. In particular, since the 2000s, Liu Xiaori has been steadily engaged in research on Manchukuo literature since the presentation of her doctoral thesis, published a collection of studies of Manchukuo literature in 2017, and raised the concept of "Lyo-colonial Literature" to understand literature in Manchukuo.
In Korea, Manchukuo's literature research and introduction are mainly focused on the discovery and introduction of Korean artists' works by the Korean literature and historical circles, while the translation and introduction of Chinese artists' literary works are insufficient. The study of Manchurian literature by Korean Chinese literature researchers is expected to complement and provide a new perspective on the limited Chinese Manchurian literature study and the study of Manchurian in the Korean literature world, which is difficult to access due to language limitations.
