영신수련을 통한 실천적 ‘생태영성’을 위한 소고 (Reflection for the practical and ‘ecological spirituality’ through Spiritual Exercises)

초록

본고는 소우주라고 할 수 있는 인간이 머물고 있는 우주라는 집과 그 집 안에 머물고 있는 모든 존재들이 맺고 있는 필연적인 관계에 대한 반성으로 시작한다. 머무는 장소로서의 의미를 지닌 ‘생태’라는 단어와 그 집 안에 머무는 모든 것들로 하여금 자신의 최고 목적에 이르게 하는 힘과도 같은 영적 배려를 ‘생태영성’의 출발점으로 보았다. 이 만남은 서로에 대한 관심이자 사랑받고 있음을 아는 마음이다.
이 마음의 뿌리는 창조주께서 이 세상을 창조하신 이유로 거슬러 올라간다. 따라서 이 마음은 서로에게 영성적인 만남을 가능하게 하고 애초의 마음을 더듬어 갈 수 있는 가능성을 제공해준다. 이런 마음의 뿌리를 따라가도록 하는 반성의 흐름은 영신수련의 ‘원리와 기초’로부터 시작되어 ‘사랑을 얻기 위한 관상’에 이르는 흐름과도 같다. 흐름 안에는 오관을 통한 구체적인 만남들이 있다.
우주의 모든 존재가 맺고 있는 불가분의 관계는 이런 구체적인 만남을 통해 서로 밀착되어 있다. 서로의 관계는 상호 의존적인데, 오늘날 사용하고 있는 생태 파괴, 생태 위기라는 말들은 이런 관계에 금이 간 징표들이다. 이런 징표는 외부에서 찾아 볼 수 있겠지만, 우리의 내부에서도 발견된다. 다시 말해 문명의 이기 앞에서의 ‘불편’이라는 도전과 풍요 속에서의 가난한 삶이라는 말이다.
우리가 전해들은 지진과 쓰나미로 인한 일본의 아픔은 주변 나라와 인류 전체의 아픔이기도 하다. 더구나 방사능이라는 보이지 않는 위협은 일본뿐만 아니라, 주변 나라들, 이 지구 가족 전체에 영향을 미친다.
이런 현실적 어려움 앞에서 우리는 어떤 태도를 취해야 하고 이를 어떻게 받아들여야 할까? 상호 의존적 관계 속에 있는 우주의 한 가운데서 인간은 외적이고도, 내적인 이런 도전에 어떻게 대처해야 할까? 이냐시오 성인에게 있어 ‘실질적인 감각’을 지닌다고 함은 ‘불편심’을 통한 하느님의 섭리에 대한 앎에 다다름과도 같다. 이는 오관관상을 통해 자신 안에서 새로운 생명으로 태어나게 하는 은총에 자신을 열고 자신의 신원에 대한 인식과 반성을 통해서 ‘사랑 받는 죄인’으로서 참된 자기를 찾는 것이다.

영어초록

This thesis began with the reflection about an inevitable relationship between the cosmos and every existence, including human beings, living in it. In this relationship, spirituality, spiritual concerning for others, is a powerful tool to their connection. It is the starting point of the subject of ‘Ecological Spirituality.’ Spirituality is an acting power guiding every existence to reach to their utmost goal. To be loved.
This relationship between them reveals firstly the consideration for each other, and secondly the knowledge to be loved. As we know, the foundation of the idea to be concerned and to be loved is rooted in the reason why the creator created us. This consideration allows also us to see the spiritual meeting and gives us the possibility to get back to our sensible power to feel the original creator's care and love. This process looks like the flowing of the Spiritual Exercises, which begins from the ‘Principal and Foundation,’ and arrives to the ‘Contemplation to Attain Love.’ This process is happening in our concrete rendezvous with all things through the ‘Five Senses.’In the rendezvous among all things in the cosmos, every existent being of the universe shows us the phenomenon which is happening in the concrete touch among each other. Now-a-days we can find easily the dangerous signs that show a crack in this relationship. These signs are found in and out of us. But the concern of this thesis is to manage the inner difficulties of human beings. These difficulties are the discomfort we experience in front of the ease going of modern civilization and the spiritual poverty among the rich.
We also know the pain of Japan’s recent earthquake and tsunami, and we are worried about the dangers of radioactivity which continues to raise concerns during a sustained period of time and its potential harm to other countries surrounding Japan. How can we accept these troubles and how can we resolve it?I believe that the way to solve these problems is not far from our daily life. The way to get back to the use of ‘practical sensibility’ is the solution to the problem. Saint Ignatius taught us the attitude of ‘indifference’. This attitude of indifference asks from us a choice in each moment and it is a way to reach God’s providence and love and to realize the ecological spirituality by through the way of ‘Contemplation through the Five Senses’. This can guide us to become aware of our real self through conversion and the knowledge of our identity as sinners who need, and have to be beloved.
