초록

본 연구는 西漢時代부터 1磚1畵가 출현하는 漢魏 교체기까지 하서지역에서 전개된 안료 수급 및 소비량을 파악하고, 1전1화에 반영된 다양한 회화 표현법 변용의 원인을 안료 수급의 관점에서 검토한 것이다.
서한시대부터 한위 교체기에 이르기까지 河西지역은 안료 수급 기반이 그다지 양호하지 못했다. 흑, 백 2색 위주에 홍색이 소량 더해진 양상을 일반으로 했다. 新莽 및 東漢時代에 이르러 黃, 朱, 朱紅 등의 안료가 일정량 수급되었으나 홍색에 비하면 크게 미흡했으며, 기타 靑綠, 보라 등의 경우 더욱 미미했다. 실제 소비된 안료의 양 역시 그다지 주목할 만한 규모를 상정하기 어려웠다.
1전1화의 회화 표현법 특징 가운데 하나인 채색 약화는 안료 수급의 문제가 가장 큰 원인으로 상정되었다. 그리고 채색 약화와 함께 수반된 크로키식 선묘와 거친 平塗式 및 터치식 채색법 역시 채색을 적극 반영할 수 없는 상황에서 비롯된 것으로 파악되었다.
1개 벽돌에 묘사 공간을 축소시킨 원인으로 제재의 대량 증가로 인한 장식 공간 부족, 독립된 묘사 공간 제공, 제재의 명료한 구분, 일목요연한 도상 배치, 안료 수급의 어려움 등 여러 경우가 상정되었다. 하지만 안료 수급 문제가 가장 폭 넓은 해석 경계를 제공했다.
이상의 검토 내용은 무엇보다도 회화 표현법 변용의 토대로서 안료 수급 문제가 중요한 시대정신의 하나로 작용했음을 새롭게 인식시킨다. 아울러 안료 수급의 문제와 밀접하게 연관된 산출 지역, 산출 량, 교역 기반, 경제력 등도 간과할 수 없는 시대정신으로 주목케 한다. 나아가 1전1화의 크로키식 선묘와 거칠고 담한 평도법 및 터치식 채색법에 관해 하서지역 화공의 고유한 미적 정서가 반영된 것, 혹은 寫意的 관점이 반영된 것, 혹은 자유분방한 낭만적 정서가 반영된 것 등으로 해석해온 기존 관점을 재고케 한다.

영어초록

This study identified the supply and demand of pigments developed in the HeXi(河西) area in the Han Dynasty, and reviewed the causes of the transformation of various painting expressions reflected in the one painting style on one brick(1磚1畵) from the perspective of the supply and demand of pigments.
During the Han dynasty(漢), the basis for supply and demand of pigments in the HeXi area was not good. The situation in which a small amount of red was added to the black and white color appeared as a general aspect. During the Xinmang(新莽) and Donghan(東漢) periods, a certain amount of pigments such as yellow, orange, and scarlet(朱紅) were supplied, but compared to red, they were significantly insufficient, and other turquoise(靑綠) and purple were even more insufficient. The amount of pigment actually consumed was also difficult to assume a noteworthy scale.
The issue of supply and demand of pigments was assumed to be the biggest factor as the cause of the weakening of the color reflected in the one painting style on one brick(1磚1畵). In addition, it was found that the croquis-style drawing and the rough touch-type coloring method accompanied by the weakening of coloring were also derived from a situation in which coloring could not be actively reflected.
The reasons for reducing the description space with one brick were assumed to be the lack of decorative space due to the mass increase of the subject of expression, the provision of independent description space, clear classification of the subject of expression, systematic and orderly arrangement of drawings, and difficulty in supplying pigments. However, the issue of supply and demand of pigments provided the widest boundaries of interpretation.
Above all, the above review newly recognizes that the issue of supply and demand of pigments served as one of the important spirit of the times as the basis for the transformation of painting expression. In addition, production areas, production volume, trade base, and economic power, which are closely related to the problem of the supply and demand of pigments, were also noted as one of the important spirit of the times. Furthermore, the existing perspective, which has been interpreted as reflecting the unique aesthetic sentiment of the artist in HeXi area, reflecting the artist's intentions, or reflecting the free-spirited romantic sentiment, was reconsidered.
