e-러닝 기반에서 웹 인터페이스 색채선호도가 학습인지에 미치는 영향 (Influences on the Cognitive Views of Learning from the Color Preference of Web Interfaces Based on E-Learning)

초록

온라인 교육 서비스가 새로운 매체로 각광 받으면서 많은 대학에서 온라인 교육 사이트를 서비스 하고 있다. 더불어 사용자의 편의를 고려한 온라인 교육 사이트의 인터페이스에 대한 연구도 계속되고 있다. 그러나 온라인에서 학습자는 한정된 공간과 긴 시간 화면을 응시해야하는 제한된 환경을 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 이는 학습의 집중력을 떨어뜨리고 학습효과를 저해하는 요소로 작용하고 있다. 이에 본연구자는 ‘웹 인터페이스 색채선호도가 성별에 따라 학습인지 능력에 다른 영향을 미칠 것이다’라는 가설을 세우고 현 사이버대학의 재학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문의 Raw Data를 바탕으로 통계프로그램을 이용하여 빈도분석 및 기술통계법을 사용하여 여성과 남성의 차이의 경향성과 변동성을 분석하였다. 그 결과 비교적 그렇다(65.22%), 보통이다(17.39%), 매우 그렇다(8.70%)로 전체(91.31%)가 웹 인터페이스 색채선호도에 따라 학습인지에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 배경색에 대한 선호도는 남성은 흰색에, 여성은 다양한 색채에 빈도수를 나타내고 있으며 주제 색에 대한 선호도는 남성은 녹색계열에 여성은 빨간색계열에 높은 빈도수를 나타내고 있다. 또한 메뉴와 아이콘에 대한 색채선호도는 남성은 파란색계열에 여성은 노란색계열에 높은 빈도수를 보이고 있다. 이는 성별에 따라 색채선호도가 다르며 웹 인터페이스 색채선호에 따라 학습인지에 다른 영향을 받는다는 가설을 입증하고 있다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 남녀 수강비율에 따라 교과목의 특성을 반영한 콘텐츠개발에 색채선호도를 고려한 웹 인터페이스 디자인을 적용한다면 학습효과를 높일 수 있으리라 기대한다. 또한 사이버대학 뿐 아니라 다양한 e-러닝 교육 사이트 개발 시 성별 특징을 고려한 인터페이스디자인 자료로 할용 될 수 있으리라 기대한다.

영어초록

Many universities are serving online education sites since online education services have been highlighted as a new medium. In addition, studies on the interface of online education site have been done in configuration of user conveniences. However, online learners have still confined in the restricted environments where they have to pay attention to screens for a long time in the limited space. These play a role of an element to deteriorate learning effects while decreasing the concentration in learning activities. Accordingly, the researcher established a hypothesis that 'the color preference of web interface in the design education based on e-learning will have different influences on the ability of cognitive views of learning depending on the gender'. Using a statistical program based on raw data in a questionnaire, the tendency and volatility in the difference between women and men were analyzed with the use of frequency analysis and statistical techniques. As a result, it appeared that the color preference of web interfaces affects the cognitive views of learning in total (91.31%) including 'Comparatively Likely' (65.22%), 'Moderately Likely' (17.39%) and 'Very Likely' (8.70%). However, men showed the frequency for white and women for various colors in terms of the preference for the background color, while men showed a higher frequency for green and women for red in terms of the theme color. In addition, men showed a higher frequency for blue and women for yellow in terms of the color preference for the menu and icon. These results support a hypothesis that the color preference differs depending on gender while the cognitive views of learning have different influences depending on the color preference of web interfaces. higher learning effects can be expected if web interface designs are applied in consideration of the color preference in developing contents to reflect characteristics on the curriculum depending on the ratio of men and women students based on these results. In addition, they can be utilized as materials for interface designs in consideration of gender characteristics in developing various e-learning education sites in addition to those for cyber universities.
