경기 일원 원형점토대토기단계 취락의 형성과 전개 양상 (The formation and development of the circular clay-stripe Age settlements on Gyeonggi)

초록

경기 지역을 중심으로 점토대토기단계 취락의 형성과 전개 양상을 살펴보았다. 특히, 원형점토대토기문화 기반 취락의 형성 시기와 주체, 입지적 특징, 기능과 역할에 초점을 맞추어 기존의 논의들을 재검토해 보았다.
먼저 취락의 형성 주체와 관련하여, 청동기시대 중기~후기에 걸쳐 지속적으로 점유된 취락의 공간구조를 검토한 결과, 후기 주거지가 중기의 것과 점유 공간을 달리하고 있었다. 이는 재지민이 점토대토기문화를 주체적으로 수용한 것이 아니라 유이민에 의해 새롭게 취락이 구성되었을 가능성을 시사한다. 또한, 청동기시대 후기에 원형점토대토기 관련유적이 경기 일원 전역에서 확인된다는 점은 갈등의 국면보다는 공존과 재편이 이루어지고 있었던 상황으로 해석할 수 있다.
한편 원형점토대토기 유적의 입지를 청동기시대 중기 취락과 비교해 보면, 상대적으로 고지에 속하는 산지나 구릉지에 분포하는 경향이 뚜렷하게 나타난다. 이러한 현상은 고조선 유민의 생업 방식이나 농지 감소, 자원 고갈에 따른 혼합경제체제 전환의 결과가 아니라, 기후 변동에 의한 자연재해에 대응하여 생업경제자원을 확보하기 위해 산지가 적극적으로 이용되면서 고지의취락 입지가 선호되었던 것으로 보인다.
이와 더불어, 당시에는 구릉이나 산정상부에 제장이 조영되었다. 이는 사회경제적 혼란기에 지역사회의 리더가 제의에서 비롯된 이념의 통제를 통해구성원의 결속을 강화하고, 정치권력을 확대하기 위해 운영한 시설로 보인다. 특히 이 시설은 상대적으로 가용농지 확보에 유리한 경기 남부에 밀집해있고, 가시권이 저지대를 중심으로 형성된 것을 볼 때, 수장(층)이 권력의 원천이 되는 정치경제 기반을 확보하기 위해 집중적으로 조영한 것으로 해석된다. 하지만, 세형동검기에 청동위신재를 매개로 한 교환네트워크가 형성되면서 수장층은 이를 정치권력의 원천으로 전환하였고, 그 결과 고지의 제장은점차 사라지게 되었다.

영어초록

Focusing on the Gyeonggi area, the formation and development of the clay-stripe Age settlements were examined. In particular, the existing discussions were reviewed, focusing on the timing and subject, locational characteristics, functions, and roles of the formation of a settlements based on the circular clay-stripe Age culture.
First of all, as a result of reviewing the spatial structure of the settlements that were continuously occupied throughout from the middle to the late Bronze Age, thelater dwellings were different from the mid-term ones. This suggests that native people did not independently accept the clay stripe pettery culture, but that a new village was formed by foreigner. In addition, the fact that the relics related to circular clay-stipe pottery were identified throughout Gyeonggi Province in the late Bronze Age can be interpreted as a situation in which coexistence and reorganization were taking place rather than a phase of conflict.
On the other hand, when comparing the location of the circular clay-stripe pottery sites with the mid-bronze settlements, there is a clear tendency to be distributed in mountainous or hilly areas belonging to the highlands. This phenomenon is not the result of the conversion of highland residents to a mixed economic system due to their way of living, farmland reduction, and resource depletion, but rather the mountainous area was actively used to secure living economic resources in response to frequent natural disasters caused by climate change, and as a result, it seems that the highland was preferred as a settlement location.
In addition, at that time, a high-altitude settlement with a ritual facility and a ring Ditch were established on the hill or top of the mountain. This can be called a high-altitude settlement, which seems to be a facility operated by local community leaders to strengthen members' solidarity and expand political power through ideological control stemming from rituals during thesocio-economicturmoil. In particular, thesettlement isconcentrated in the southern part of Gyeonggi-do, which is relatively advantageous for securing available farmland, and given that visibility is formed around low-lying areas, it is interpreted that the chief(class) intensively contrasted to secure the political and economic foundation that is the source of power. However, with the formation of an exchange network through bronze prestige materials in the slender bronze dagger, the head class turned it into a source of political power, and as a result, a high-altitude ritual facility gradually disappeared.
