신학적 윤리 판단 형성 과정의 이해 ― ‘은둔형 외톨이’의 예를 중심으로 (Understanding the Theological-Ethical Judgment Formation Process — Focusing on the Example of ‘Hikikomori’)

초록

이 논문은 어떤 행위가 윤리적으로 선하고 옳은지, 또는 노력할 만한 가치가 있는지에 대한 척도, 판단 기준 그리고 원리를 세우고, 그 유효성을 제시하는 신학적 윤리적 판단 형성 과정을 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 윤리적 판단 형성 과정에 대한 개념 이해부터 동기와 목적 그리고 간략한 역사를 독일어권을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 그런 다음 최근에 윤리적 판단 형성 과정을 기술한 로이터의 이론을 상세하게 기술하였다. 로이터가 생각하는 윤리 이해와 판단 형성 과정에 대한 4단계를 차례대로 자세하게 제시하였다. 그리고 마지막으로 로이터가 제시한 판단 형성 과정의 4단계를 근거로 해서 ‘은둔형 외톨이’의 현상을 살펴보았다. 판단 형성 이론에 따른 은둔형 외톨이에 대한 문제를 다루다 보니 이 현상에 대한 모든 면을 다룰 수 없었다. 단지 개인윤리와 사회윤리 관점에 차이에 대해서 다루었고, 또한 ‘은둔형 외톨이’는 잠재적 사회 범죄자 그룹을 양산하는 사람들이다’라고 주장하는 사람과 그렇지 않다는 대립된 주장에 대해서만 서술하였다.
마지막으로 모든 판단 형성 과정의 논의를 통해 드러난 결과들을 근거로 한국 교회에 주는 의미를 살펴보았다. 먼저는 신학적 윤리 판단 형성 과정은 현대 사회에 일어나는 윤리적 갈등 상황을 효과적으로 해결할 수 있는 메타윤리적 전략과 방법임을 논의하였다. 두 번째는 그것은 윤리적 판단 형성 과정이 한 번에 끝나는 것이 계속적인 과정으로 진행되는데, 이것은 어떻게 하면 지금보다 더 타당하고 합리적인 판단에 이르고자 하는 노력임을 알게 되었다. 그리고 동시에 또 다른 윤리적 주체들을 이해할 수 있는 방법론적인 길이 열어준다는 점이다. 결국 이 계속되는 과정은 윤리적 주체들 간의 소통과 이해를 가짐으로 사회 통합에 기여할 수 있다는 것이다. 윤리적 주체들로 하여금 윤리적으로 가장 타당한 판단으로 안내할 수 있기 때문이다. 마지막으로 ‘은둔형 외톨이’의 문제는 사회가 발전하면 할수록 결코 외면할 수 없는 사회적 현실이라는 것을 모두 인식해야 한다. 그래서 공동체는 이런 인식을 바탕으로 이들을 배제가 아니라 포용으로 돌보고 배려할 수 있는 전략들을 계속해서 수립하고 발전시켜야 한다. 이것이 지속 가능한 사회로 나아가는 길이기 때문이다.

영어초록

This paper examines the theological and ethical judgment formation process that establishes standards, judgment standards, and principles for whether an action is ethically good and right, or worth the effort, and presents its validity. To this end, we looked at the conceptual understanding of the ethical judgment formation process, its motivation and purpose, and provided a brief history, focusing on the German-speaking world. Then, we describe in detail Reuter’s theory that recently described the process of forming ethical judgments. Reuters presents in detail the four stages of ethical understanding and judgment formation. Finally, we looked at the phenomenon of ‘reclusive loners’ based on the four stages of the judgment formation process presented by Reuters. While dealing with the issue of Hikikomori according to judgment formation theory, it was not possible to cover all aspects of this phenomenon. This case only dealt with the differences in personal ethics and social ethics perspectives, and also described only the conflicting claims of those who claim that ‘Hikikomori’ are people who create a group of potential social criminals’ and those who do not.
Lastly, we looked at the meaning for the Korean church based on the results revealed through discussion of all judgment formation processes. First, it was discussed that the theological ethical judgment formation process is a metaethical strategy and method that can effectively resolve ethical conflict situations that occur in modern society. Second, the process of forming ethical judgment is not a one-time process, but progresses as a continuous process, and that this is an effort to arrive at a more valid and reasonable judgment. And at the same time, it opens a methodological path to understanding other ethical subjects. Ultimately, this ongoing process can contribute to social integration by enabling communication and understanding between ethical subjects. This is because it can guide ethical subjects to the most ethically sound judgment. Lastly, we must all recognize that the problem of Hikikomori is a social reality that cannot be ignored as society develops. Therefore, based on this awareness, the community must continue to establish and develop strategies to care for and consider these people by including them rather than excluding them. This is because this is the path to a sustainable society.
