전북 서부지역 2∼6세기 거점세력의 성장과 지역성 (Growth and Regional Characteristics of Strongholds in the 2nd and 6th Centuries in the Western Region of Jeonbuk-do)

초록

본고는 전북 서부지역을 대상으로 2∼6세기 대 거점유적을 상정하여 권역을 구분하고 지역 거점세력의 성장과정과 지역성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 거점유적은 주거지와 분묘의 군집도, 토기가마 확인 사례를 바탕으로 58개 유적을대상으로 선정하였으며, 권역은 수계를 중심으로 금강하류권, 만경강권, 동진강권, 주진천권으로 구분한 후 세부 수계와 유적분포를 바탕으로 소권역을 세분하였다. 시기는 Ⅰ기 2세기 후반∼4세기 중엽, Ⅱ기 4세기 후반∼6세기 중엽으로 크게 구분하였다.
초대형급 취락의 경우 익산 사덕유적, 고창 도산리·봉산리유적과 같이 Ⅰ기∼Ⅱ기까지 오랜기간 존속하거나, 익산 장신리 유적, 전주 동산동·여의동유적과 같이 Ⅰ기에만 군집이 집중되어 Ⅱ기에는 거점지역의 이동을 가정하게한다. 분묘에서도 군집도가 높은 완주 상운리유적의 경우 Ⅰ기에서 Ⅱ기까지 연속되는 양상으로 거점세력의 오랜존속기간이 짐작된다. 특히 만경강권의 완주와 전주지역은 장경평저호 또는 광구장경호를 공유하는 지역성이 강한곳으로 주목된다.
성장과정은 Ⅰ기에 주거지와 분묘 수가 급증하면서 거점세력의 성장모습이 본격적으로 드러나며, Ⅱ기에는 백제와 가야 문화요소의 유입으로 지역에 따라 토착문화에 선택적 적용되고, 거점세력 간의 결집양상도 관찰된다. 권역별로 살펴보면 금강하류권은 백제양식이 가장 이르게 등장하는 특징을 보이며, 만경강권은 철기생산 거점세력 등여러 거점세력들이 각각의 역할을 달리하며 함께 성장하는 모습이다. 이 외에도 동진강권은 농경 중심의 거점세력, 주진천권은 서해안과 인접한 교역거점으로 중심적 역할을 하였던 것으로 보인다. 이처럼 전북 서부지역은 다수의지역 거점세력이 각각의 전통성과 독자성을 유지하며 발전하는 모습이 관찰된다.

영어초록

The purpose of this paper is to classify regions by assuming the remains of bases in the 2nd to 6th centuries in the western part of Jeonbuk-do, and to examine their growth process and regional characteristics. Based on the frequency of clusters of dwellings, ancient tombs, and ceramic kilns, 58 base sites were selected, and the areas were divided into Geum, Mangyeong, Dongjin, and Jujincheon rivers, and sub-areas were subdivided based on detailed water systems and distribution of artifacts. The period was largely divided into the late 2nd and mid 4th centuries and the late 4th and mid 6th centuries.
In the case of super-large settlements, it lasts for a long time from Period I to Period II, such as the Iksan Sadeok ruins, Gochang Dosan-ri, and Bongsan-ri ruins, or is concentrated in Period I, such as the Iksan Jangshin-ri ruins, Jeonju Dongsan-dong and Yeoui-dong ruins, so it is assumed that the base area is moved in Period II. In the case of the ruins of Sangun-ri, Wanju, which have a high frequency of clusters in ancient tombs, they appear continuously from Period I to Period II. In particular, the Wanju and Jeonju areas of the Mangyeong River are attracting attention as regions with high regionality that share Janggyeongpyeongjeoho and Gwanggu Janggyeongho.
In the western part of Jeonbuk-do, the growth of strongholds is revealed in earnest as the number of dwellings and tombs increased rapidly in the I period, and in the II period, due to the influx of cultural elements from Baekje and Gaya, it is selectively applied to indigenous culture depending on the region, and the gathering pattern between strongholds is also observed. By region, the Geum river's downstream area is characterized by the earliest appearance of Baekje style, while the Mangyeong river area shows that various strongholds, including the strongholds of iron production, play different roles and grow together. In addition, the Dongjin River region seems to have played a central role as an agricultural center, and the Jujincheon River region as a trade center adjacent to the west coast. As such, in the western part of Jeonbukdo, it is observed that a number of regional strongholds maintain and develop their traditions and identity.
