    Ham, se-duk left us two drama of history material; Nakwham(<낙화암>) treated the fall of Baekje dynasty and Eomillejong(<어밀레종>) dramatized the story of making Seongdukdaewangsinjong, the king Seongduk's bell. Since these works contained the policy of Chosun and Japan being same one, they are classified as Pro-Japanese dramas. He said, they were only resistant works which appealed to nostalgia and retrospective national emotion, taking the materials in the history.
    The central creating technique of Nakwham is to quote the historical facts, therefore this work recorded the course of Baekje’s fall chronologically. Ham se-duk found the cause of destroying in the alienated public sentiment and the disunion in national opinion followed by King, Euija’s misrule. He gave the audience the negative perception about China by saying that we must look out Dang dynasty in China through Rung, the prince of Baekje’s words. He emphasized the union in national opinion by stressing the damage in the case of defeat in the war.
    Whereas the central creating technique of Eomillejong is to create the historical facts newly. Since Ham se-duk didn't have to be restricted by the real historical facts, he could enlarge his imagination, resulting in emphasizing the close relation between Silla and Japan and negative aspects in the relation with China. The positive aspects in the relation with Japan was represented through the episode that copper, the material of Seongdukdaewangsinjong was looked for in Japan.
    It is a writing method of contradiction to reflect the need of national drama era with the drama of history material and at the same time to appeal to nostalgia and retrospective national emotion with the emotion of drama. Ham se-duk tried to reproduce the luxury of Baekje culture, which gave the audience longing for the disappeared. In Eomillejong he intended to heighten the national pride through the greatness of Eomillejong which has mysterious bell sound and to give the audience the optimistic view through Michuholl who overcame all difficulties and made the bell. However the technique affecting on the audience’s feeling through the emotion of drama has the shortcoming that the effect is very weak. If the dramatist’s insist should not be planted on purpose in the dramatical structure like Nakwham, the national emotion is likely to coincided with the need of national drama era, and Eomillejong is the representative example.

He meant to try to perform the Singuk properly by means of national drama era and in this term he is the subject of dis-identification. Nakwham is a drama whose size is unprecedented and which needs luxurious stage setting. Eomillejong is a work of large size where the bell maker’s feature is outstanding. Ham se-duk intended to display the power of Singuk to the people in charge of commercial drama, but this trial resulted in subordinating his works to the pro-Japanese dramas.
