「사평역에서」와 「사평역」의 상호텍스트성 (Intertextuality in the 「At Sapyoung Station」 and 「Sapyoung Station」)

초록

The novelist of 「Sapyoung Station」 borrowed some phrases from the poem, 「At Sapyoung Station」 at the beginning and some original or similar sentences of the poem throughout it. Especially, 4 lines at the beginning and last stanzas of the poem are borrowed analogically or similarly in the novel. The various images in the poem are embodied delicately within the epic structure in the novel. Even though the novel is recreated through parody of the poem, the differences of two genres concretely show a view of the world and features of technique in each work. And the interaction of two genres can help open the new area by narrowing the differences.
「At Sapyoung Station」 expresses the narrator's thought and insight about the life in a beautiful landscape and the atmosphere of common people's life and makes readers feel the universality of life and historical meaning. The first half is unfolded logically without a sense of alienation and jump in an image. The poetical idea is unfolded as the subjective lyricism is changed into sensational description in the second half. The whole situation in which passengers are waiting for the last train, means waiting and yearning. The fact that passenger are waiting for the last train which hasn't come for a long time, is to mean the situation of reality in which people keep silent. People prop up the gloomy life with waiting and yearning. They try not to scream and upbraid suffering and distress about the reality but to objectify the filtered emotion in a pathetic tone.
「Sapyoung Station」 is about returning home again after characters dopped in Sapyoung Station with their own matters. They are our own portraits in the 1980s as rootless people who were dismissed from the center and lived without any dream in a gloomy reality. The writer describes the traces of their lives without the dramatic plot and the conflict of character after observing them closely from the objective point of view throughout the omniscient author narration. They are middle aged man, farmer and women who suffer from the grim realities of life and young people who sacrifice themselves for the pain of the times and ideology. They try to find the direction of life even though they are so weary and worn out.
