충북지역 아라리의 전승실태와 음악적 특성 연구 (Study on the transmitting aspects and musical features of Arari songs in Chungbuk regions)

초록

본 논문은 충북 지역에 전승되고 있는 아라리의 전승실태와 음악적 특성을 알아보고, 향후 충북지역 아라리의 전승 방향을 제시해 본 글이다. 『MBC민요대전』 문화방송, 『한국민요대전』 충청북도(1995).
에 수록된 <아라리>16곡과 『충북의소리』 조순현, 『충북의 소리』(충청북도, 2010).
에 수록된 3곡, 『충북의민속문화』 국립민속박물관, 『충북의 민속문화』(2012).
에 수록된 1곡 ,현장 채집한 4곡을 대상 곡으로 분석했다. 충북 지역에 전승되고 있는 아라리는 음악적 특성에 따라서 <긴아라리 계통의 노래>, <자진아라리 계통의 노래>로 구분된다. 긴아라리 계통의 노래는 주로 남성이 부르는 농업노동요와 기타노동요로 나타난다. 자진아라리 계통의 노래는 주로 여성이 부르는 노동요와 유희요 등으로 나타난다. 기능적 특성은 노동요와 다기능요로 나타난다. 가창방식은 노동의 종류에 따라 독창이나 교환창으로 부른다.
음구성은 <미, 라, 도>음이 주요음이며 <미>음과 <라>음으로 종지음을 삼으며 동도종지형태가 많이 나타나는 메나리토리이다. 음폭은 주로 단7도로 낮은 음역으로 부르며 박자구조는 3소박 4박자의 정형화된 장단에 시김새가 적게 나타나고 있다. 1930년대 이전에 충북에서 불려졌던 <자진아라리 계통의 노래>가 청주시를 중심으로 충북전지역에 전승되고 있음을 알 수 있다.

영어초록

Taking a close look at the transmitting aspects and musical features of Arari songs in Chungbuk regions, the results show as follows. Arari songs transmitted in Chungbuk are divided into the long Arari ones and Jajin Arari ones according to its musical features. The long ones were usually sang in Cheongwon, Eumseong, Jecheon, and Danyang areas as farming songs mostly sung by men and tree cutting songs. The long Arari songs as work songs are categorized into Mojjineun sori, Mosimneun sori, Nonmaeneun sori, and the songs sung while going to cut trees. Jajin arari songs were usually sung as play songs in Jeongam Village, Yanbian. Singing styles are either solo or a giving and receiving style.
The long arari songs are made up of solo and pre and post-chorus. It was sung for chorus when people were working together like Mojjigi, Mosimgi, and Nonmaegi; it was sang for solo when they were working alone. The structure of tempo is 3 sobak and 3 bakja.
The structure of tempo shown in Jajin arari songs is 3 sobak and 2sobak, which is Eotmori rhythm two. The musical notes are mainly (Mi, Sol, La, Do', Re'). <La> and <Mi> sounds are used for endings and the ending with the same melody is the most common ending form. The ending melody is the horizontal types with the same melody and the lowering types going to lower sounds. Sigimsae begins from <La>, <Sol>, back to <Mi> mostly seen in Menarit'ori. Chuseong is seen moving from <Mi> to <La>, from <La> to <Do>, from <Do> to <Re>. Tweoeong is also seen moving from <Re> to <Do>, from <Do> to <La>, from <La> to <Mi>. No trembling sound is seen as it is sung clearly.
The singing styles of Jajin arari songs are made up of solo and pre and post-chorus. It was sang for chorus when people were working together like Banga sori; it was sang for solo when they were working alone.
Out of the Jajin arari songs, Cheongju Arirang is very important and worth preserving. It is the song that has been preserved by Chungbuk people who moved to Jeongam Village, Yanbian by the Japanese migration policy in 1938. Due to the geographical conditions, the original songs sung in Chungbuk have been well preserved in Jeongam Village. With the industrialization of the countryside, the working places are disappearing. The songs are disappearing as well. Therefore, these songs are needed to be recorded and preserved without ruining their prototypes.
