초록

이상은 작품의 아버지(기원)로서 저자를 강조했던 이광수나 김동인과 달리 주인공과 소설가의 아이러니한 관계를 제시함으로써 작품에서 텍스트로 나아가는 식민지 문학의 한 양상을 보여주었다. 그는 자기를 폭로하면서 은폐하는 텍스트, 즉 구성을 회피하기 위해 사소설적으로 재현하는 동시에 개인적인 사실을 숨기기 위해 복잡하게 소설을 조직하는 역설적인 사소설을 도입했다.
그러므로 이상의 삶과 텍스트는 “영도의 글쓰기”로써 “예지”나 로고스를 탐구하는 일과 맞서고 있다. 그것들은 명징하고 초월적이며 위생적인 주체의 위치에 있지 않다. 이는 이상 문학이 난해한 이유이기도 하거니와, 따라서 이상의 텍스트는 “읽히는 것”이기보다는 “쓰이는 것”이며, 소설가와 등장인물의 분리뿐만 아니라 때때로 소설가와 독자의 구분마저 넘어서는 양상을 보이기도 한다.
그런데 이상의 텍스트가 “쓰이는 것”이라는 말은 그것이 재현과 상관없는 구조라는 뜻이 아니다. 이상은 외부 세계의 반영에 치중하는 “타동사적 인간”으로서의 “작가”가 아니었지만, 그와 동시에 자신의 삶을 재현(은폐)했다는 의미에서 구성에만 몰입하는 “자동사적 인간”으로서의 “저자”도 아니었기 때문이다. 대신 이상 글쓰기의 핵심은 자동사와 타동사를 계속 접촉(감염)시키는 것이었다.
이를 위해 이상은 언어유희, 외국어 사용, 상호 텍스트적 인용 등을 구사했으며, 이렇게 개인의 사생활을 폭넓은 참조관계와 복잡한 재현(은폐) 체계로 어루만짐으로써 이상 텍스트의 언어는 그 사적 체험을 작가 및 사건 자체에서 소격시킬 뿐 아니라 텍스트에 구멍을 내어 텍스트를 그 내부로부터 벗어나게 했다. 그리고 이것이야말로 이상이 종종 사용한 French letter 및 그 파열의 의미다. 그 찢어진 틈과 더불어 이상의 문학은 공포와 쾌락을 동시에 주재하는 “환희의 텍스트”로서 계속 자동하고 타동하면서 여러 번 읽히고 쓰일 것이다.

영어초록

Unlike Yi Kwang-su and Kim Dong-in who emphasized the author(autuer) as the father(origin) of literary works, Yi Sang showed one aspect of Korean colonial literature which shifted from ‘work(oeuvre)’ to ‘text(texte)’ by presenting the ironical relation between his hero and himself as a novelist. He introduced the paradoxical I-novel that concealed himself with exposing his own episodes. While it made representations to avoid constructing and controlling literary works, at the same time it also organized very complicated literary structures in order to hide writer`s personal experiences.
Therefore, Yi Sang`s life and texts stand against pursuing intelligence or logos executed through “writing of zero degree(l`écriture au degré zéro).” They are not in the clear, transcendental, and hygienic positions, and this fact is to be the main reason why his literature is difficult to be understood. In this way, Yi Sang`s texts are more “writerly(scriptible)” than “readerly(lisible)”, which sometimes deny not only the separation of novelist from his characters but also division of novelist and his readers.
By the way, Yi Sang`s texts as “the writerly” do not mean the structures unrelated with the representations. It is because Yi Sang was neither the “writer(écrivant)” as a “transitive man(homme transitif)” who attached weight to reflection of the outer world, nor the “author(écrivain)” as a “intransitive man” who absorbed in the construction of text with his representation(concealment) of his own living. Instead, the core of Yi Sang`s writing lies in the constant contacts(infections) of the transitive writing and the intransitive writing.
For practicing this sort of writings, Yi Sang used puns, foreign languages, and inter-textual citations. And by relating his private life with the world wide references and the representative(concealing) systems, the languages of Yi Sang not only separated his private experiences from himself and the real episodes but also liberated the texts from their interior with boring the closed boundaries. And it is the very meaning of Yi Sang`s French letters and their splits. With their creviced openings, Yi Sang`s literatures as the “texts of jouissance” that preside the pleasure and the fear simultaneously will be read and written so many times transitively and intransitively.
