초록

본 연구의 목표는 다문화 배경의 초등 고학년 학습자를 위한 쓰기 교육 방안을 마련하는 것이다. 먼저 초등 국어 교육 과정과 한국어 교육 과정에서 다문화 배경의 학습자를 위한 쓰기 교육의 목표와 내용을 확인하고 실제 사용이 가능한 교재를 분석하여 쓰기 교육에 활용할 점을 찾고자 하였다.
일반 초등 국어 쓰기 교육 과정과 한국어 쓰기 교육, 제2 언어로서의 한국어 교육(KSL)과 외국어로서의 한국어 교육(KFL)에서의 쓰기 교육 과정을 확인한 결과 다문화 배경의 초등 고학년 학습자들에게도 한국어 실력이 다소 낮더라도 한 편의 온전한 글쓰기 교육이 필요하다고 보았다. 또한, 글쓰기 교육에서 글의 구조적, 내용적 측면에서뿐만 아니라 표현 언어로써 한국어를 적절하게 사용하여 쓰는 연습이 필요하다고 보았다.
다음으로 학습 현장에서 빠르게 대응하여 실제 쓰기 수업에 활용하기 위해서 현재 교육 현장에서 쓰이고 있는 『표준한국어』 교재를 활용하고자 교재를 분석하였다. 『표준한국어_의사소통』 교재와 『표준한국어_학습 도구』 두 교재의 구성과 내용을 확인한 결과 문어적인 어휘 학습과 다양한 유형의 글을 제공하는 『표준한국어_학습 도구』 교재가 쓰기 교육 활용에 여러 이점이 있었다. 그러나 이 교재는 학습 도구 어휘에 중점을 둔 교재로써 학습 내용의 개념과 내용의 이해에 치중해 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이에 교재에서 제공되는 언어 정보는 낱말 형태의 어휘 제공뿐이므로 그것을 글의 유형에 맞는 표현으로 바꾸어 제공할 필요가 있다고 보았다. 또한, 교재에서 제시된 쓰기 활동 중에서 문장 단위로 제시된 비율이 가장 높았고 단락이나 글 단위의 쓰기 제시 비율은 낮았다. 그리고 그 쓰기 활동들은 문장에서 단락, 단락에서 글의 단위로 연계되지 않고 각각 개별적으로 제시되고 있었다.
이에 따라 이 논문에서는 다문화 배경 초등 고학년을 대상으로 한 쓰기 교육 방안으로 실제적인 어휘ㆍ표현을 강화하고 산발적으로 나타나는 글의 단위를 하나의 주제 아래에서 문장 단위부터 단락, 글 단위까지 연계적인 쓰기 활동으로 제시할 것을 제안하였다. 그리고 그것을 교재의 한 단원을 활용하여 실례를 들어 보았다. 그러나 본 연구는 교재를 활용한 쓰기 교육의 실제적 방안 제시에 그치고 그것을 실제 현장에서 사용한 결과는 제공하지 못하였다는 한계를 지닌다. 이러한 쓰기 교육 방안의 효과에 관해서는 후속 연구로 진행될 것임을 밝혀 두고자 한다.

영어초록

The goal of this study is to establish a writing education plan for upper elementary school learners from multicultural backgrounds. Therefore, it aims first to identify the goals and contents of writing education for learners from multicultural backgrounds in the elementary Korean language curriculum and the Korean language curriculum as a foreign language, and analyze textbooks that could actually be used to find out what to apply to writing education.
First, as a result of identifying in this study the general elementary Korean writing curriculum and the writing curriculum of Korean as a foreign language, as well as the writing curriculums of Korean as a second language(KSL) and Korean as a foreign language(KFL), it was found that upper elementary school learners from multicultural backgrounds also need a complete writing education even if their Korean language skills are somewhat low. In addition, it seemed necessary in writing education to practice writing accurately not only in terms of structure and content, but also as an expression language.
Next, in order to respond quickly in the educational field for utilization in actual writing classes, textbooks were analyzed to utilize the 「Standard Korean」 textbook currently used in the educational field. As a result of identifying the composition and contents of both the 「Standard Korean Communication」 textbook and the 「Standard Korean Learning Tool」 textbook, the 「Standard Korean Learning Tool」 textbook, which provides written vocabulary learning and various types of writing, had several advantages for writing education. As a textbook focusing on vocabulary as a learning tool, it was confirmed that this textbook stressed the concept and understanding of learning contents. Therefore, since the language information provided in the textbook is only the vocabulary in the form of words, it is necessary to change it into an expression suitable for the type of text. Meanwhile, among the writing activities presented in the textbook, the rate of presentation in sentence units was the highest, and the rate of presentation in paragraph or text units was low. And the writing activities were presented individually without being linked from sentence to paragraph or from paragraph to text unit.
Accordingly, as a writing education plan for upper elementary school students from multicultural backgrounds, this paper proposed to strengthen practical vocabulary and expressions and to present sporadically appearing text units as linked writing activities from sentence to paragraph and text units under one theme. And one chapter of the textbook was used to give an example. However, this study has a limitation in that it only presents a practical plan for writing education using the textbook but does not provide the results of using it in the actual field. A follow-up study will be conducted on the effect of this writing education plan.
