    초록

    It may be diagnosed by many theorists and experts on literature that the glory days, considering the fiction as the most attract genre in literature area, have already gone. Pure fiction as a leader of literature genre had exerted considerable influence to the field once,however, it yielded the top position to shnovel -self improvement book-, and fantasy novel. We can realize a great transformation through this exemplification. It might be brought about by external factors, for instance, the advent of the information age- now on,people use facebook and blog to share their ideas with others- or advance of media culture. On the other hand, to focus on its internal factors is also one way to figure out this phenomenon. Traditional authorities such as nation, society and family have been collapsing, for this reason, to keep to old forms of literature may be able to incur anachronism.
    In this situation, many writers are struggling in order to make a breakthrough, and make various attempts like crossover among genres,genre kill and others for not to settle for the present. Orhan Pamuk has made attempts genre kill in his productions so far. Especially, in his recent released book,『The Museum of Innocence』, he, the first in literary history, showed the transformation of fiction into reality. This attempt of cultural content, bringing out the real life from the fiction,are considered that it is preposterous and fresh idea and shows the possibility of extension of literature.
    The fiction, 『The Museum of Innocence』, is the first published novel from Orhan Pamuk since he was awarded the Novel prize for literature. This is the story about a man who built a museum to preserve his memories which about his lover who had ruled his entire life. In other words, 『The Museum of Innocence』 is not only the story's name about a man who built a museum with stuffs associated with his lover to remember forever the reminiscences of pure and ardent his love story, thereby the museum helped him not to forget his memory forever, but also the name of actual museum's which was established by Orhan Pamuk at the same place written on the book.
    Hence, the museum is a evidence, record and immortal symbol of love that Kemal, a hero's, had experienced by his own.
    Pamuk persistently narrates linking his story with displayed stuffs in the museum to hold people's attention. It makes impression on readers as if they are really going around in the museum. 『The Museum of Innocence』performs dual role both a fiction and a catalog of the museum. In addition, it also makes readers wonder whether the writer built the museum while he wrote the book or after he finished his book.
    The exhibits in 『The Museum of Innocence』contains reminiscences which is short but intense love story of Kemal and Fusun's, on the other hand, contains shared memories which were owned by the rich and various people in Istanbul, Turkey of the age, too.
    Maybe Pamuk, clung tenaciously to past memories through his production 『Istanbul』, recast and wrote 『The Museum of Innocenc e』 by gathering past time memorable collections. This is like Kemal,in the fiction, built the museum with the reminiscences of Fusen,therefore, the past transformed into the museum in real life, also became immortal new existence.
    As several times being said in this novel, the museum is place of people who want the reminiscences to be confined in there, at the same time, be prolonged its extinction.
    By gathering and exhibiting stuffs which were shared between Kemal and Fusen or were permeated Fusen's body odor, their reminiscences will always be in the museum even when they won't together. Also, their ardent love will be remembered by us through those stuffs forever and ever.
