포스트모더니즘의 신 이해 －보편신관에서 지역신관으로의 전이(轉移)－ (Understanding God of Postmodernism: Transition from Universal Theism to Local Theism)

초록

이 논문은 포스트모더니즘 시대에 어울리는 지역신관을 제시하는 것을목적으로 한다. 지금까지의 신관은 서구 그리스도교 중심으로 형성되었다.
본 논문은 서구 중심적으로 구성된 신관 제국주의와 신관의 라틴의 포로에서 벗어나 지역신관을 제시함으로써 신관의 세계화를 지향한다. 역사 상대주의적 관점에 따르면, 지금까지 그리스도교는 각 지역의 사회적 맥락에 맞게 토착화된 형태의 그리스도교로 잔존해왔다. 중세와 모더니즘을 거쳐 바야흐로 포스트모더니즘 시대에는 토착화된 그리스도교 신학에 상응하는 새로운 신관이 요구된다. 그리스도교 신학의 중심주제인 하느님에 대한 이해인 신론은 형이상학적 사유와 언어의 도움으로 서술되었다. 지금까지 서양중심의 신학적 구도 속에서 논구된 대표적인 신관은 초월적 유신론 혹은이신론, 범신론, 범재신론, 무신론 등이 있다. 이러한 신관들은 범재신론을제외하고 모더니즘의 시대의 그리스도교적 사유에서 비롯된 신관이다. 하지만 이러한 시도는 포스트모더니즘의 시대에는 더 이상 적합지 않을 뿐만아니라 불가능하다. 그 이유는 형이상학적 사유와 언어가 삶의 현실성과 신앙의 현실성을 은폐하거나 왜곡하고 이러한 형이상학의 재생은 불가능할뿐만 아니라 유해하기 때문이다. 형이상학을 재건하려는 노력은 인간의 관념적 우상숭배에 지나지 않는다. 그러나 포스트모더니즘의 세계관에서는모더니즘 시대의 서양 중심적 신관의 사유에서 벗어나 새로운 신관의 사고가 요청된다. 그것은 보편주의를 추구하는 서구 그리스도교 중심주의를 벗어나 각각의 역사와 문화 가운데 재탄생되어 토착화된 그리스도교에서 비롯되는 상대주의적 신관이다. 이 논문은 그러한 신관을 지역신관이라 명명했고 포스트모더니즘 시대에 어울리는 지역신관의 관점에서 신을 궁구한다면 보편신관의 굴레에서 탈피하여 신에 대한 다양한 사유를 통해 상이한유형의 신관을 형성할 수 있으리라 기대한다. 그렇게 된다면 각 지역의 그리스도교가 서양 중심의 사대주의 신학과 번역 신학의 한계를 극복하고 신학의 주체성과 독립성을 찾을 수 있으리라 전망한다.

영어초록

This paper aims to present local theism that is appropriate for the post-modern era. Until now, Theism has been shaped around Western Christianity. This paper aims for the globalization of theism by presenting local theism out of the Western-centered theism imperialism and the Latin captive of theism. According to historical relativist viewpoints, so far, Christianity has existed as an indigenous form of Christianity to suit the social context of each region. After the Middle Ages and Modernism, Postmodernism era calls for a new theism commensurate with the indigenous Christian theology. Theism, the understanding of God, the central theme of Christian theology, was described with the aid of metaphysical thought and language. Until now, the representative theisms that have been argued in the western-centered theological landscape include supernatural theism or deism, pantheism, panentheism and atheism.
These theisms, with the exception of panentheism, derive from the Christian thinking of the era of modernism. But this attempt is no longer suitable or impossible in the post-modern age. The reason is that metaphysical reasons and language cover up or distort the reality of life and faith, and such metaphysics is not only impossible but harmful. Efforts to rebuild metaphysics are nothing more than human idealistic idolatry. In the world view of postmodernism, however, new ideas of the new theism are called upon, deviating from the thinking of the Western-centered view of the modernism. It is a relativistic theism that originates from indigenous Christianity, which has been reborn among each history and culture, beyond Western Christianity’s centralism in pursuit of universalism. This paper named such the theism as local theism and expects that if one seeks God from the point of view of local theism suitable for the postmodernist era, one will be able to form different types of theism through various reasons for God. If so, it is predicted that the Christians in each region will be able to escape the limits of Western-centered theology and translation theology and find the subjectivity and independence of theology.
