초록

The object of this paper is examining cultural effect relationship by looking Indian epic ‘Ramayana’ which has been spread to the Southeast Asia is shown as some culture aspects.
In other words, by considering Ramayana traditions, which are shown in each Southeast country's literatures, folk arts and sculpture reliefs, in this paper during the process of receiving and transforming Indian culture, Southeast Asia countries not only imitate the Indian cultures but also they have developed them as original arts by adding local native culture and artists'abilities.
For the logical development of the topics, Indian and Southeast countries' geographical characteristics, historical and cultural relationships are examined in this paper. In addition, as a framework, whether setting a Ramayana is valid or not is written in this paper. Furthermore, themes are deducted by searching Ramayana tradition which is presented in the main Southeast Asia countries'-Cambodian, Thailand, Burma, Laos,Indonesia, Malaysia-literature and arts.
Like general art works, initially Ramayana tradition is spread from India. However, it is created newly suitable for each country’s geographical conditions and culture environments.
The motif of the Rama saga is essentially the same, but in the manner of developing the story, through the partial transformation they created their own culture.
This is a result of a combination of creativity artists with exceptional talent and unique culture of indigenous. Therefore,in the Southeast Asia, according to each local tradition,religious worth and value system, Ramayana tradition has been developed fully as an ingenious tradition by uniting local native culture.
