해방기 시의 자연표상과 이념 (Natural Representation and Ideologie 0f Poetry in the Period of Liberation)

초록

자연표상은 주체가 세계를 대하는 태도를 반영한다. 물질적인 자연은 시 언어로 옮겨지면서 ‘재현’된 자연이 되며 동시에 특정한 시기에 집단표상의 성격을 띤다. 본 논문의 목표는 해방기의 좌우파 시들의 자연표상의 성격을 규명하고, 탈식민 의식이 냉전적 감각에 노출되면서 자연표상과 이념이 어떻게 조응되는지 살피는 데 있다.
필자는 우선 물음의 수사를 통해 해방기 좌․우파 시에서의 자연표상의 지위와 역할에 주목하였다. 좌파 시의 경우 물음의 형식을 통해 답안의 정당성을 구하고, 원인의 문제를 책임의 문제로 전이시킴으로써 정치적 문제를 윤리적 문제로 확대한다. 이 경우, 인간은 자연으로부터 자유롭게 세계를 구성할 수 있는 존재가 된다. 이와 대조적으로 우파 시에서는 물음의 수사를 통해 자연의 절대적 지위가 확정된다. 우파 시인들은 자연을 초월적 서사이자 유일한 가능세계로 이해하고 자연에 자기충족적인 유기체로서의 절대성을 부여한다.
해방기에는 냉전이라는 새로운 감각 구조가 형성되는 시기이기도 했지만 탈식민의 다양한 비전들이 나타났던 시기이다. 자율․공영․공생의 이념은 우파의 탈식민 의식과 관련된다. 김광섭의 경우 탈식민의 문제를 정체성 문제와 연결시키면서 식민/탈식민이라는 폭력적 구조에 대한 문제의식을 날카롭게 드러낸다. 개인과 사회 민족 단위의 개별성의 존중과 개별성을 지지하는 보편성으로서 자율․공영․공생의 이념을 강조한다. 이와 대조적으로 유치환은 이 이념을 동일성을 확보하는 원리로 받아들기도 한다. 그는 해방기의 혼란한 정치사회 현실에서 전 민족의 화합을 처방하는데 이 이념을 활용한다.
이 시기 국토와 고향 표상은 좌우의 선명한 대립을 보여준다. 우파의 경우 국토 탄생을 절대적인 자연의 신비로 재현해내고 민족의 기원을 심미화한다. 이와 대조적으로 좌파 시들은 현재에 초점을 두고 국토와 고향을 재현한다. 좌파 시에서의 국토는 새로 시작하는 국가의 모습으로 그려지기 때문에 순진하고 어리고 약하며 그래서 보호되어야 할 대상이다. 이와 연동하여, 좌파 시의 고향은 궁핍한 삶의 구체적 표상이 된다. 대조적으로 우파 시의 고향은 그리움의 대상이며 정신적 안식처이자 자기정화의 공간으로 표시된다. 해방기 국토와 고향 표상은 민족을 중심으로 탈식민 의식을 구성하는 우파와 국가를 중심으로 탈식민을 지향했던 좌파의 간격을 보여준다.

영어초록

Natural representation reflects the attitude of subject to the world. Physical nature turns into a 'represented' nature as it is transferred to poetic language, and at the same time, bears the character of a collective representation at a specific period. The purpose of this study was to examine the character of natural representation of the leftist and rightest poems at the time of liberation and to investigate how the natural representation is corresponded to the idea as the post-colonialism was exposed to cold-war sensation.
First of all, the researcher paid attention to the position and role of natural representation of the leftist and rightest poems at the time of liberation through the rhetorics of question. The leftist poems expand the political problems to ethical problems by seeking the legitimacy of answer through the form of question and transferring the problems of cause to the problems of responsibility. The rightest poems determine the absolute position of the nature by through the rhetorics of question. The rightest poets understand the nature as a transcendental narration and as an only possible world and grant the nature the absoluteness as a self-sufficient organism.
The period of liberation was the time when a new sensitive structure of cold war was formed as well as various visions of post-colonialism appeared. The ideology of autonomy․co-prosperity․symbiosis is related with the post- colonialism of the Rightists. Gwang-Seop Kim revealed the critical mind on the violent structure of colonialism/post-colonialism sharply by connecting the problem of post-colonialism to the problem of identity. He emphasized the ideology of autonomy․co-prosperity․symbiosis as a universalism that respects the individualism in the unit of individual, society and nation and supports the individualism. On the contrary, Chi-Hwan Yu accepted this ideology as a principle to secure identification. He made use of this ideology for prescribing the harmony of the whole nation in the chaotic reality of politics and society in the period of liberation.
Territory and hometown representation in this period shows a clear confrontation between the Leftists and the Rightists. The Rightists represented the birth of territory as a natural mystery and expressed the origin of the nation aesthetically. On the contrary, the Leftists' poems put focus on the present and represented the territory and hometown. The territory in the Leftists' poems is pure, immature and weak, so the object of protection, as they are depicted as the look of a newly starting state. Connected with this, the hometown of Leftists' poems become a concrete representation of the life in poverty. On the contrary, the hometown in the Rightists' poems is marked as the object of yearning, the rest for heart and the space for self-purification. Therefore the territory and hometown representation in the period of liberation shows the gap between the Rightists who constituted the post-colonialism centering around the nation and the Leftists who aimed at post-colonialism centering around the state.
