초록

The aim of this study is to review and to revalue magazine ‘Si-geon-seol’. This magazine was published in the northernmost part of Joseon, eight times in four years. It is very important poetry magazine, but has not been studied much yet. Among the various literary magazines of the 1930s, ‘Si-geon-seol’ has a very unique and exceptional position.
So this study analyzes all of ‘Si-geon-seol’, and try to find out the unique character of this magazine. The magazine has three outliers: the best north, the longest period, and the largest magazine in the late 1930s. The characteristics of this magazine are evident when compared to other poetry magazine of literary coterie of the time. The magazine was definitely a magazine of literary coterie, but did not claim a particular literary ecology. The people who created this magazine were the new generation poets. At that time, the new generation poets recognized that literature of Joseon was becoming poor. The problem of poverty in poetry was a problem to be solved by the new generation of poets.
The magazine was published in a remote area of capital, new generation poets from various places actively participated. The characteristics as coterie magazine were not very clear, because poets of various tendencies have published their works and the leader of this magazine did not make a clear claim either. However, this feature is characteristic of magazines of this period. More important than literary ecole was solving urgent problems. More attention should be paid to this magazine in the future to understand the activities of new generation poets of the 1930s.
