스퀴시 선수의 운동 스트레스 요인과 대처방법 (An analysis of stress factor and stress coping method in squash players)

초록

본 연구는 중고대학생 스쿼시 선수의 스트레스 요인과 대처방법을 알아보고 이를 기초로 스쿼시 선수들의 경기력 향상에 도움을 주려는 것이다. 연구대상은 2007년 대한스쿼시연맹에 등록되어 있는 남녀 선수 300명이었으며, 검사지는 김병준(1999)의 스트레스 요인 질문지와 유진박성준(1998)의 스포츠 대처 척도 질문지를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SAS 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 이원변량분석을 실시하였으며, 유의한 차이가 있을 경우 사후검증을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 운동 스트레스는 실패의 두려움이 가장 높은 점수로 나타났으며, 선후배사이의 갈등이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 성별로는 취업 및 상급학교 진학걱정에 대한 요인에서 여자선수가 남자선수보다 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 대상별로는 부상우려 요인에서 중학교가 고등학교와 대학교에 비해 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 운동 스트레스 대처방법은 문제 중심적 대처가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 회피가 가장 낮게 나타났다. 성별로는 회피요인에서 여자선수가 남자선수보다 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 대상별로는 정서 중심적 대처와 회피요인에서 대학생이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 운동 스트레스가 발생하는 원인을 찾아 가장 적절한 대처방안을 제시해 줌으로써 스트레스를 감소시켜 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영어초록

This study aims to find the way to ensure an efficient management of players, and furthermore, to improve their performance, by getting to the bottom of the stress factors that affect middle school, high school and university squash players and analyze the method to cope with those stress factors. The stress factors and approach to deal with them were studied by analyzing 266 male and female players registered with the Korea Squash Federation as of 2006 on the basis of the gender and distinction. One is the questionnaire dealing with the stress factor, designed by Kim Byeong-Joon(1999), and the other questionnaire deals with the criteria for the response from the perspective of sports, designed by Yoo Jin, Park Seong-Joon(1998). In order to verify the hypothesis set forth in this study, ANOVA(Two-way Analysis of Variance) was carried out. And in case of any other significant difference, the following conclusions came out from the post-verification. First, In case of the level of sports-related stress, depending on the sub-factors, fear for failure topped the list, indicating mark. By contrast, the trouble among the seniors and juniors indicated mark, which is the lowest. In case of factors related to concerns, depending on the gender, about the prospect of successfully being admitted to advanced school in the future, female playes indicated higher scores, which implies that they tend to be worried more than their male counterparts. In case of factors related to concerns of injury, depending on the respondents of survey(object), female junior high school students indicated lower scores than high school students and university students. Second, In case of the level of coping with the sports-related stress, depending on sub-factors, problem-centric approach indicated the highest mark, and the evasion of the problem indicated the lowest mark. In case of gender, female players indicated higher scores in terms of evasion-related factors than their male counterparts, which points to the higher propensity to evade among female players than male players. In case of objects, university players indicated higher scores than any others from standpoints of coping with emotion-centric response and evasion factors.
