순와(順窩) 안경의(安景禕)의 의식지향(意識指向)과 시(詩) (The Consciousness Orientation and Poetry of Sunwa Angyeongui)

초록

순와(順窩) 안경의(安景禕)는 하려(下廬) 황덕길(黃德吉)의 제자 중 한 사람이다. 그는 성호학파 순암계열의 정립에 상당한 역할을 하여 안정복과 황덕길의 문집 간행에 참여하였고, 이들의 문집에 서문과 발문을 남겼다. 그는 6권 2책의 소략한 문집을 남겼지만, 자신의 문집 곳곳에서 안정복과 황덕길에 대한 존모(尊慕)의 뜻을 드러냈다. 그의 문집 구성과 편차, 내용상의 특징적인 요소들 역시 안정복이나 황덕길의 문집과 상당히 유사하다는 점에서 그가 안정복과 황덕길에게서 받은 영향이 적지 않음을 알 수 있다.
그런데 안경의의 글을 살펴보면 대부분이 유가적 도덕세계를 추구하는 자신의 정신세계를 드러내는 것이다. 그런 점에서 그의 의식이 지향하는 세계는 유가적(儒家的) 사유세계(思惟世界)이고, 그 세계에 나아가는 방법은 유가적(儒家的) 수양(修養)을 위한 보편적인 방법론이었음을 알 수 있다. 하지만 안경의의 글은 그의 의식세계와 지향점의 가장 본질적이고 기본적인 부분만 보여준다. 그가 익혔던 학문의 내용이나 수준, 그가 도달한 경지나 과정에 대해서는 언급하지 않았다. 문집 속의 글만으로 볼 때 안경의는 기본에 충실한, 본질에 주력했던 인물이라고 할 수 있지만, 다른 한편으로 학문적 사유의 폭이 철학적으로 깊이 있게 확장되지 못했다고 평가할 수도 있다.
이런 모습은 그의 시에서도 볼 수 있다. 그의 시에는 다양한 층위의 의식세계가 담겨있는데, 그 의식세계의 본질적인 지향점은 유가적 도덕세계와 근본으로의 회귀이다. 하지만 그 지향점이 너무나 범박하고 피상적이라는 점에서 의문의 여지가 있다. 물론 이런 모습을 그가 유학(儒學)의 가장 본질적인 모습을 추구했기 때문에 당연한 것이라고 할 수도 있지만, 그 본질에 다가서는 방법이나 본질에 대한 사고(思考)와 해명이 관념적인 수준을 넘어서지 못하는 것에는 의문이 적지 않다. 이런 모습을 안경의의 학문적 수준에 의한 것이라고 할 수도 있지만, 그가 황덕길의 문하 제자들 사이에서 적지 않은 명망을 지녀 이후 성호학파 순암계열의 정립에 상당한 영향을 미친 인물이었다는 점에서 이렇게 단언하기도 쉽지 않다.
안경의의 시문에서 볼 수 있는 이런 양상들의 이유에 대해 해명하기 위해서는 앞으로 보다 더 깊이 있는 검토가 이루어져야 할 것이다. 특히 이런 양상이 안경의만의 특성인지 아니면 시대나 학파의 경향인지, 또 이런 양상이 등장하게 된 이유는 무엇인지에 대한 탐색이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

영어초록

Sunwa Angyeongui is one of the pupils of Haryeo Hwangdeokgil. He played a significant role in establishing the Seongho School's Sunam fraction and participated in the collection of literary works of Anjeongbok and Hwangdeokgil, and left prefaces and epilogue to their collection of literary works. He left a literary collection of six parts two books, and expressed his respect for Anjeongbok and Hwangdeokgil in his collection of literary works. His collection of literary works, deviations, and characteristic factors of contents are also quite similar to the collection of literary works of Anjeongbok or Hwangdeokgil, so it can be seen that the influence he received from Anjeongbok and Hwangdeokgil is big.
However, if you look at Angyeongui's writings, most of them reveal their mental world that pursues the Confucian moral world. In this regard, it can be seen that the world that his consciousness is aiming for is a Confucian thinking, and the way to go to that world was a universal methodology for Confucian culture. But Angyeongui's writings show only the most essential and basic parts of his conscious world and orientation. He did not mention the contents or levels of the discipline he had learned, or the status or process he had reached. In the collection of literary works alone, Angyeongui can be said to be a person who focused on the essence faithful to the basics, but on the other hand, it can be evaluated that the width of academic thought did not expand philosophically deeply.
This is also seen in his poems. His poems contain a variety of layers of consciousness, and the essential orientation of the consciousness world is the return to the Confucian moral world and the essential. But there is a question in that the orientation is so normal and superficial. Of course, this may be said to be natural because he pursued the most essential aspect of confucianism, but there are some questions about that the way how to approach the essence, how to think about the essence, and how to explain it does not exceed the a fixed idea level. This may be attributed to the academic level of Angyeongui, but it is not easy to assert because he had a considerable influence on the establishment of the Seongho School's Sunam faction and he having a big reputation among the disciples of Hwangdeokgil.
In order to explain the reasons for these aspects seen in the poems and writing of Angyeongui, a deeper review should be conducted in the future. Especially, it is necessary to explore whether these aspects are the characteristics of Angyeongui alone or the tendency of the times or schools, and why these aspects have emerged.
