『진휘속고(震彙續攷)』 계열 시 관련 편목에 나타난 시의 양상과 그 의미 (The Patterns and Meanings of Poems in the Cataloging Related to Poems in the Jinhuisokgo Line)

초록

육당문고본 『진휘속고(震彙續攷)』와 장지연 문집 내에 있는 『진휘속고(震彙續攷)』, 일본동경대학 소장본인 『진벌휘고속편(震閥彙攷續編)』은 크게 『진휘속고』 계열이다. 『진휘속고』 계열의 책들은 작자 미상이었으므로 그동안 주목을 받지 못했다. 영남대학교 한자문화연구소에서 『진휘속고』를 번역해 2018년 『스스로 역사가 될 수 없었던 사람들』을 출간하면서 본격적인 연구가 진행되었다. 하지만 『진휘속고』 계열 시 편목과 관련한 연구는 미진하다고 하겠다. 본고에서는 『진휘속고』 계열 시 편목을 살펴 『진휘속고』 계열 책들의 연구 지평을 넓히고자 했다.
『진휘속고』 계열 시 관련 편목에 나타난 시의 양상과 그 의미를 살펴봄으로써 다음과 같은결론에 도달할 수 있었다.
첫째, 19세기 인물지의 한 종류로서 『진휘속고』 계열들이 지니는 위상과 한계를 점검할수 있다. 위상은 인물지라는 특징에 맞게 많은 인물들이 제시되고 있다. 비록 상층의 인물들이 대부분을 차지하고 있지만 하층의 인물들 또한 포함하여 다루고자 노력했다. 이는 한계로도 작용한다. 각 층의 인물을 고루 다루었다면 인물지의 면모에 더욱 부합될 수 있었다고 생각된다.
둘째, 『진휘속고』 계열 시 관련 편목에 나타난 시의 양상과 그 의미를 공시적⋅통시적 측면에서 고찰하였다. 편찬자는 상층뿐만 아니라 하층의 인물들까지 모두 다루고 있었다. 뛰어난 인물들의 시를 제시하고 있기도 하지만 기존에 주목받지 못했던 인물을 등장시켜 그의 시를 제시하여 인물의 뛰어남을 드러내기도 했다. 인물의 능력을 신분이라는 제약에 가두지 않겠다는 편찬자의 의도로 생각된다. 비록 모든 부분에서 그러한 측면이 강하게 드러나는 것은아니지만 적어도 그러한 노력을 기울였다는 것은 시 관련 편목의 시를 통해 살필 수 있었다.
셋째, 『진휘속고』 계열 시 관련 편목에 나타난 시를 고찰함으로써 편찬자는 시를 제시해 편목 가시화를 꾀했으며, 이를 통해 인물의 위상과 분위기 조성의 효과를 거두어 낼 수 있었다.

영어초록

Jinhuisokgo of the Yukdangmungo version, Jinhuisokgo in Jang Ji-yeon's collection of works, and Jinbeolhuigosokpyeon housed at Tokyo University, Japan all belong to the Jinhuisokgo line broadly. The books in the line of Jinhuisokgo have anonymous authors, thus getting no attention so far. In 2018, the Research Institute for Chinese Character Culture of Yeungnam University published People Who Could Not Be History Themselves after translating Jinhuisokgo, marking the beginning of full-blown research on the books of the line. However, there has been only poor research on the cataloging of poems in the Jinhuisokgo line. This study thus aims to examine the cataloging of poems in the Jinhuisokgo line and broaden the research horizon for the books of the line.
The study examined the patterns and meanings of poems in the cataloging related to poems in the Jinhuisokgo line and reached the following conclusions: First, the study checked the status and limitations of the books in the Jinhuisokgo line as a kind of book of figures in the 19th century. As for their status, t hese b ooks i ntrod uced many figures t rue to t heir c haracteristics as a book of figures. Although most of them were from the upper class, the books made an effort to include and deal with people from the lower class, as well.
This posed a limitation, too. If the books had been even to deal with figures from all the classes, they could have fitted the aspect of a book of figures better.
Second, the study examined the patterns and meanings of poems in the cataloging related to poems in the Jinhuisokgo line in synchronic and diachronic aspects. Their compilers dealt with people both from the upper and lower classes. While presenting poems by remarkable people, they also presented people who had not received attention and introduced their poems to show how remarkable they were. It was their intention as a compiler not to confine the abilities of people within the constraints of the social classes. This aspect did not appear strongly across all the parts, but it was clear that they made those efforts at least in the cataloging related to poems.
Third, The compilers attempted to visualize cataloging by examining poems in the cataloging related to the poems in the Jinhuisokgo line and presenting these poems, thus achieving the effects of establishing the status of people and creating a mood.
