일제말기 인도네시아 한인군속의 항일투쟁 (Anti-Japanese Struggle of Korean Civilian Workers Attached to the Japanese Military in Indonesia in the late Stages of Japanese Imperialism)

초록

본 논문은 일본군정기 인도네시아의 자바에 포로감시원으로 강제 동원된 조선인 군속의 항일투쟁을 인도네시아의 현대사의 흐름에서 살펴본 것이다. 자바의 이방인인 조선인 군속이 항일무장투쟁을 위한 비밀결사 고려독립청년당을 결성한 과정과 말레이 전속명령을 ‘계기’로 항일의 에너지가 무장봉기로 분출한 암바라와 사건을 재구성하고, 일본군정과 자바 사회에 미친 영향에 대한 역사적 고찰을 시도했다.
자바의 조선인 군속은 1944년 6월부터 항일 비밀결사를 준비해, 그해 말 고려독립청년당을 결성했다. 고려독립청년당이 창당한 지 7일 만인 1945년 1월 4일 자바 중부 암바라와에서 당원 3인이 무장봉기해 일본군인 등 12명을 살해하는 암바라와 사건이 발발했다. 돌발적인 말레이 전출명령으로 인한 당원 3인의 준비되지 않은 무장행동이었지만, 암바라와 사건은 ‘일본 군국주의에 항거하는 폭탄아가 되라’는 당의 강령에 따른 ‘고려독립청년당의 항일투쟁’이었다.
암바라와 사건은 견고한 자바의 일본군정 체제를 내파(內破)하고 일본군의 자바 방위전략에 차질을 빚게 했다. 특히 암바라와 사건은 일본군정에 대한 협조주의가 우세했던 자바에서 정치적·이데올로기적 항일운동의 물꼬를 트는 선구적인 것이었다. 비록 조선인 군속이 주도했다고는 해도, 일본군정기 자바에서 정치적으로 항일을 표방한 무장투쟁은 암바라와 사건이 처음이었다. 일본군정기 인도네시아인 최초의 항일 무장봉기인 블리따르 사건은 암바라와 사건 40일 뒤의 일이다. 암바라와 사건은 블리따르 사건에 직·간접적인 영향을 준 선구적 무장투쟁으로 평가할 수 있다.

영어초록

In this paper I examined the anti-Japanese struggle of the Korean civilian workers attached to the Japanese military who were forced to watch the captives in Java, Indonesia during the Japanese military rule in the trend of Indonesian contemporary history. I reorganized the course of the formation of a secret society “Koryo Young Peoples’ Party for Independence (Koryo-dongnipcheongnyeondang)” which was organized for anti-Japanese armed struggle by the Korean civilian workers attached to the Japanese military, foreigners in Java and the Ambara Incident in which their anti-Japanese energy erupted in the type of an armed uprising with transfer command to Malay. And I attempted historical study on its impact on the Japanese military rule and Javanese society.
The Korean civilian workers in Java prepared for the formation of the secret society from June, 1944 and formed Koryo Young Peoples’ Party for Independence at the end of that year. On the fourth of January, 1945, 7 days after the establishment of Koryo Young People’s Party for Independence, its 3 members rose in arms and killed 12 Japanese soldiers in Ambara, Java. Even though the incident was the armed action which was not well prepared caused by abrupt transfer command, it was the anti-Japanese struggle based on the platform of Koryo Young Peoples’ Party for Independence, “Be a bomb against Japanese militarism”.
The Ambara Incident imploded the adamant system of Japanese militarism in Java and disrupted the defense strategy of the Japanese army in Java. Particularly, it was a pioneer spark for political and ideological anti-Japanese movement in Java where an atmosphere supporting Japanese military rule prevailed. Though the Anbara Incident was led by the Korean workers attached to the Japanese military, it was the first armed struggle standing for anti-Japanese imperialism politically in Java during Japanese military rule. The Blitar Incident which was the first Indonesian armed uprising against Japanese imperialism during Japanese military rule occurred 40 days after the Ambara Incident. Thus it is evaluated that the Ambara Incident was the pioneer armed struggle that had an influence on the Blitar Incident directly or indirectly.
