랜드스케이프 어바니즘의 특성에 의한 도시 소공원 고찰 (A Study on the Urban Pocket Park Based on the Characteristics of Landscape Urbanism)

초록

도시 공간에서 소공원은 녹지 불균형을 해소하고경제적으로 도시환경의 질적 향상을 도모할 수 있는가치를 가진 공간이다. 최근 생태적 문제에 관한 관심이 높아지며 조경을 도시의 장식적인 요소가 아닌 도시형성의 기반이 되는 매체로 보는 시각이 높아졌으며, 조경과 도시의 영역을 허무는 랜드스케이프 어바니즘이 대두되었다. 그러나 국내 소공원은 양적 설계에 치중하며 픽처레스크적 조경 개념을 탈피하지 못하고 일률적인 디자인을 보였다. 이에 본 연구는 국내소공원 디자인의 발전 방향에 대해 제언하고자 랜드스케이프 어바니즘 관점에서 소공원의 현 상황을 고찰하였다.
소공원 분석에 앞서 소공원의 개념과 기능, 그리고랜드스케이프 어바니즘의 이론적 고찰을 진행하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 랜드스케이프 어바니즘의 주요 특성을 수평적 연속성, 자연과 인공환경의 융합, 유연하고 열린 프로그램, 대상지의 능동적 구축으로 도출하였다. 이를 기준으로 사례를 분석한 결과 소공원 대상지는 도시공간으로부터 분리되는 경향을 보였으며, 대부분 형태 중심적 설계를 취하여 현대도시의 가변성과 다양성을 수용하기엔 어려움이 있었음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 대상지의 특수성을 반영하지 못하여 도시와의 적극적 상호작용이 일어나지 못하고 도시와 융합되지 않는 픽처레스크적 설계형태가 주로 나타났다. 소공원은 생활권에 위치하여 도시와 직접적인 상호작용이 가능하므로 설계 시 주변 환경을 고려한 섬세한 설계가 요구된다. 도시환경의 질적 향상을 위해서소공원은 기존의 전원적인 녹색공원을 탈피하고 도시와 융화되는 개방적 구조로 디자인되는 것이 바람직하다. 더불어 설계 시 계획부지 밖의 영향권도 고려되어야 하며, 주변 지역에 따라 차별화된 디자인을 보일수 있도록 지속해서 논의되고 발전되어야 할 것이다.

영어초록

In urban space, pocket parks are places with values that can resolve the green imbalance and economically improve the quality of the urban environment. Recently, as the interest in ecological problems has aroused, the perspective of Landscape has viewed as a medium for urban formation rather than as a decorative element of the city has increased. As a result, landscape urbanism that destroys the realm of landscape and urban areas has emerged. However, the pocket parks in Korea focused on quantitative design to improve green areas and showed uniform design without breaking away from the concept of picturesque landscape. Therefore the current situation of pocket parks from the perspective of Landscape Urbanizim is studied in order to suggest the direction of development of pocket park design in Korea.
Prior to the analysis of pocket parks, theoretical investigations on the concept and function of pocket parks and Landscape Urbanism were conducted. Based on this, the main characteristics of Landscape Urbanism are derived from four types: horizontal continuity, convergence of nature and artificial environment, flexible and open programming, and active construction of ground. The analysis of domestic pocket parks showed that the pocket park sites tended to be separated from the urban spaces, and as the most of them took form-oriented design, they failed to accommodate the variability and diversity of modern cities. In addition, there was no active interaction with the city because it did not reflect the specificity of the site, and the picturesque landscape design does not converge with the city.
Since the pocket parks are located in the living area, it can interact directly with the city; therefore, the detailed designs considering the surrounding environment are required. In order to improve the quality of the urban environment, it is desirable for pocket parks to be designed with an open structure that breaks away from the existing green parks and harmonizes with the city.
In addition, the design should consider the area of influence outside the planned site, and it should be discussed and developed continuously to show differentiated designs depending on the surrounding area.
