초록

최근 ‘마을’을 둘러싸고 전개되고 있는 경제․사회․문화적 실천의 장이 여러 흐름들의 교차와 중첩 혹은 혼종적인 차원에서 구성되고 있다는 점에 주의를 기울인다면, 우리에게 요구되는 것은 새로운 시선과 관점에 입각한 방법론의 창안이라고 할 수 있다. 이 글은 그러한 문제의식 속에서 제출되었으며, 특히 ‘마을 속 도시’ 혹은 ‘도시 속 마을’이 오늘날 어떤 식으로 존재하고 여기에 접근해가는 방법은 또 무엇인지 짚어보고자 한 것이다. 그에 따라 이 글은 ‘마을’을 지칭하던 종래의 언어들을 이른바 ‘마을살이’로 재규정하고, 민속적인 것이 재현되는 한 양태라고 할 수 있는 마을생태의 복원과 세시풍속의 연관 문제를 실마리로 삼아 이를 실천적인 차원에서 정립하고자 했다. 서울 정릉천 상류 일대에서 활성화되었던 ‘버들치마을’ 사례는 그와 같은 문제 지점들을 살펴볼 수 있는 중요한 사례에 해당한다고 할 수 있다.
이를 위해 이 글은 기본적으로 연구 대상과 목적에 접근하기 위한 인식론적 전제의 설정을 새롭게 시도해보았다. 먼저 현재의 시점에서 확인할 수 있는 마을 형태의 역사적 형성과 그 성격을 살펴볼 때, 이를 ‘마을살이’라는 언어로 재규정할 수 있다는 점을 거론했다. 이때 중요한 것은 마을이라는 것이 분명한 물질적․생업적 토대 위에서 생성된 공동체적 생활 양식임과 동시에, 해당 공동체가 추구하는 관념과 의식 혹은 가치 지향을 현실화․가시화하는 문화구성체로 존재해왔다는 점이다. 그런 다음, 자본의 순환 및 가치 운동과 긴밀하게 맞물려 근대적 도시 형태가 주조되어 오고 있다는 점을 중요하게 지적하면서, 마을생태 복원의 행동 속에서 이전과 다른 역장(力場) 혹은 긴장적 배치가 도시적인 것의 장 속에 기입되고 있다는 점을 지적했다. 나아가 이것을 도시 속에서 사건적․국면적으로 전개되었던 마을살이의 현대적 판본으로 규정하면서, 해당 사례가 생태적 문화형식의 기획과 실행을 통해 반복과 소통의 시간 감각을 주체적으로 형성하고 이를 토대로 고유한 리듬과 정동을 구축해왔다는 점을 거론했다. 마지막으로, 남겨진 문제는 마을행동의 정책적 흐름이 보이고 있는 역량의 포섭 혹은 한계라는 점을 지적하면서, 이를 ‘매듭’이라는 메타포를 통해 주제화하고자 했다.

영어초록

If we pay attention to the fact that the field of economic, social and cultural practice that has recently been developing around “village” is formed at the level of intersection, overlap, or hybrid of various flows, what we are asked for is the creation of a methodology based on a new perspective and perspective. This article was submitted with such a sense of problem, and in particular, we tried to find out how “the urban in the village” or “the village in the urban” exists today and how to approach it. Accordingly, the important point of this article is to redefine the traditional languages that used to refer to “village” as so-called “village life,” and to establish them on a practical level, we looked at the relationship between the restoration of village ecology and the customs, which can be said to be an aspect of representing folk things. The case of “chinese minnow village(beodeulchi-mauel),” which was activated in the upper reaches of Jeongneungcheon Stream in Seoul, can be said to be an important case to look at such problem points.
To this end, this article basically tried to establish a new epistemological premise to approach the subject and purpose of the study. First, while summarizing the historical formation of the village form and its characteristics that can be confirmed at the present time, I tried to redefine it in the language of ‘village life’. The important thing is that a village is a community lifestyle created on a clear material and livelihood basis, and at the same time, it has existed as a cultural complex that realizes and visualizes the ideas, rituals, or value orientations pursued by the community. Then, it was important to point out that the modern urban form has been cast in close conjunction with the capital cycle and value movement, and that a different station field or tense arrangement is written in the urban field in the action of restoring the village ecology. Furthermore, defining this as a modern version of village life that was developed incidentally and nationally in the city, it was mentioned that the case has independently formed a sense of time of repetition and communication through the planning and implementation of ecological cultural forms, and based on this, a unique rhythm and affection have been established. Finally, pointing out that the remaining problem is the inclusion or limitation of the capacity shown by the policy flow of village behavior, we tried to make it a theme through the metaphor of ‘knot’.
