초록

In this paper, we attempted to analyze the Annual cyclic rituals’s change patterns and causes based on the questionnaires on the Annual cyclic rituals consciousness conducted in 2000 and 2018 in the northern plains of Vietnam. As a result of the comparison analysis of the questionnaires, the Vietnamese in the northern plains of Vietnam could see that ‘Seol(Tết)’ was the most important holiday and occupied its position consistently. In addition, this paper we also tried the major causes of changing Annual cyclic rituals. As a result, we realized that the main cause of the change in Annual cyclic rituals consciousness was the policy and social change especially economic situation of Vietnam. Based on this viewpoint, in this paper, we have noticed the process of Chuseok, known as’ Children ‘s Day’, expanding into 'Family Feast’ in Vietnam. We have found that the root cause of the rise of Chuseok is the economic relaxation and the change of family type. Specifically, we have come to realize that the rapid industrialization of Vietnam is the basis of the change in the life business, which has led to changes in family relations. The analysis of the phase change of Chuseok will be meaningful in terms of not only the change of the Annual cyclic rituals consciousness of the Vietnamese in the northern plains area but also the scale to be able to deduce the change pattern of the whole Annual cyclic rituals in Vietnam.
