초록

오늘날 지구환경이 심각하게 파괴되고 있는 상황에서 이에 응답 할 수 있는 생태신학의 모델은 무엇인가? 이 글은 구약부터 신약에 이르기까지 구원의 역사를 관통하는 주제가 창조와 새 창조라고 보고, 이를 생태신학적 그리스도론의 관점에서 해석하고자 시도한다. 창조질서를 유지하고 쇄신시키고자 하는 구약의 제사와 3대 생태계 보존법인 안식일, 안식년, 희년의 이상이 예수 그리스도의 하느님 나라 선포와 종말론적인 희년의 실천, 그리고 그의 죽음과 부활을 통하여 실현되었다. 이제 예수의 부활한 몸은 그리스도인 공동체를 형성하는 초월적인 근거가 되고 하느님이 모든 것 안에서 모든 것이 되는 하느님 나라의 완성을 향해 모든 피조물을 복속시키고 아우르는 중심점이 된다.
오늘날 생태 문제의 핵심은 모든 개인과 집단의 행동 그리고 국가의 정책이 무엇보다 경제 논리에 근거해서 인간의 탐욕을 조장하고 있다는 것이다. 경제제일주의가 이처럼 자연의 무분별한 착취와 오염을 가중시키고 결국 죽음의 문화 안에서 최종적으로 죽음을 부르는 탐욕의 논리가 되었다. 경제 논리에 맞서는 대응 방식은 생명을 존중하고 감사히 여기며 탐욕을 제한하는 생명논리다.
생명의 빵으로 오신 예수는 가장 완전한 생태적 삶을 증거한다. 자연 안에서 모든 생명은 누군가를 먹고 자신은 누군가에게 먹히는 장엄한 생명의 고리를 이어간다. 예수는 생명의 빵으로 오시어 우리에게 먹히고 우리 또한 다른 이에게 먹히도록 초대하신다. 먹고 먹히는 것은 내가 사랑을 받고 사랑을 하고, 내가 남의 희생으로 살고 나 또한 남을 위해 희생하는 것이나 다름없다. 자신이 먹는 것에 대해 하느님께 감사와 찬미를 드리고 자신도 먹힌다는 것에 대해 기쁨과 행복을 느끼는 것이 바로 생태학적인 영성이다. 영원한 생명이란 이처럼 생명을 받고 전달하는 자연의 에코 시스템 안에서 출발한다. 그리스도인은 생명의 영도자이신(사도 3,15) 예수의 생명을 받고 그 생명을 동료 인간 및 이웃 생명들과 나누고 그들을 돌보는 과정을 통하여 자연을 완성하는 부활의 에코 시스템에 참여하는 것이다.

What is the model for an ecological theology that could address the global environmental crisis today? This thesis will attempt to interpret Creation and New Creation, a theme that penetrates salvation history from the Old Testament to the New Testament, from an ecological christology perspective. The sacrifices of the Old Testament and the three laws for the protection and the renewal of the order of Creation like the Sabbath, the Sabbatical Year and the year of Jubilee were realized in Jesus’ Proclamation of the Kingdom of God, the practice of the eschatological year of Jubilee and in His Death and Resurrection. Now, the Body of the Risen Jesus becomes the transcendental basis for the formation of the Christian church and God, who is in everything and forms all things for the completion of His Kingdom, becomes the encompassing focal point that subdues creation.

At the core of today’s ecological problems, there are the behaviors of individuals and interest groups, along with national government policies, that focus strictly on economic gain and promote greed. Thus, the materialistic economic system exacerbates the indiscreet exploitation and contamination of nature. It creates a logic for greed that results in the destruction of lives on Earth and progressively leads to the final end through a culture of death. Therefore, the countermeasure to a materialistic economic system is a culture of life that respects and appreciates all life and limits greed.
Jesus coming as the Bread of Life represents the perfect ecological life. In nature, a magnificent cycle of life continues by the process of all living creatures consuming and later being consumed. Jesus comes as the Bread of Life to be consumed by us and invites us to be consumed for the sake of others. To eat and to be eaten are nothing but to love and to be loved, signifying that we live by the self-sacrifice of others and in turn we also sacrifice ourselves for others. The act that we give thanks and praise to God for eating and that we feel grateful and happy for being eaten for others is an ecological spirituality. Eternal life begins from this ecosystem of nature. Christians who receive the life of the risen Jesus, the Prince of life(Act 3:15), will participate in the ecosystem of the Resurrection that completes nature through the process of sharing Jesus’ life with other human beings and with our neighbors on this Earth by caring for them.
