문학상 제도의 조선 이식과 전개과정 (The Chosun transplant and the development process of the system of the literary prizes)

초록

동아시아로 확장해가는 제국 일본의 정치적 권역과 판도에 보조를 맞추듯 일본의 문학상은 일본 국내뿐만 아니라 식민지 조선에도 ‘이식’되어 뻗어나갔다. 본고는 1939년의 조선예술상 설립에 일본에서 아쿠타가와상ㆍ나오키상, 기쿠치간상 등을 기획, 제정한 바 있는 기쿠치 간의 경험과 시야가 반영되었다는 사실에 주목하여, 이를 문학상 제도의 조선 ‘이식’과 그 후의 전개과정, 그리고 그것이 조선 내 문학과 문화계에 가져온 영향관계라는 관점에서 논의하였다. 조선예술상과 관련해서는 앞서 조선예술상의 설립을 둘러싼 경위와 이 상의 내역에 관한 정리가 이루어졌지만, 지금까지의 선행연구에서는 문학상 제도의 조선에의 이식과 이 후의 전개과정이라는 관점에서는 충분히 논의되지 못한 감이 있다. 특히 본고에서는 조선예술상과 함께 동시대 조선에서 진행된 1939년 10월 조선문인협회의 결성과 설립, 1941년 11월의 『국민문학(國民文學)』지 창간과 발행으로 이어지는 조선문학계에서의 맥락을 읽어나가면서 상호간의 영향관계와 조선에서 산출된 ‘일본어 문학’의 구체적인 양상을 파악하였다. 나아가 문학상을 둘러싼 제국과 식민지 문단에서의 연환구조를 해명하고, 이 메커니즘이 동시대 조선문인들에게 끼친 영향과 다양한 반응에 대해서도 논의했다. 이를 통해 아쿠타가와상 제도의 이식에서 전개되는 조선에서의 문학상 제도와 인적 네트워크의 형성이 다시 일본의 아쿠타가와상으로 순환하는 재생산 구도를 확인할 수 있었다.

영어초록

As if to keep in pace with the political sphere and the territory of the Japan empire, which has been expanding to East Asia, the literary prizes of Japan had been transplanted and stretched out to the colonial Chosun, too, and not only in the domestic Japan. This manuscript paid attention to the fact that the experiences and the views of the Kikuchi Kan, who had planned for and had enacted the Akutagawa Award, the Naoki Award, the Kikuchi Kan Award, etc. in Japan had been reflected on the establishment of the Chosun Geijutsu Shou in 1939. This was discussed in the viewpoint that it was a Chosun transplant of the system of the literary prizes, the unfolding process afterwards, and an influencing relationship brought by it to the literature and the cultural circles. Although, regarding the Chosun Geijutsu Shou, the sorting out regarding the details surrounding the establishment of the Chosun Geijutsu Shou and regarding the details of this award took place, in relation the advanced researches until now, there is the feeling that there have not been sufficient discussions from the viewpoint of the transplantation of the system of the literary prizes to Chosun and from the viewpoint of the unfolding process afterwards. Especially, in this manuscript, the mutual influential relationships and the specific aspects of the Japanese literature produced in Chosun were understood while reading the context of the Chosun literature circles that had been continued with the foundation and the publication of the ‘Kokmin Bungaku’ in November 1941 after the organization and the establishment of the Chosun Literary man Association in October 1939, which was proceeded with in Chosun in the same era together with the Chosun Geijutsu Shou. Furthermore, the chain structures in the literary circles of the empire and the colonies surrounding the literary prizes were explained. And there were the discussions on the influences of this mechanism on the Chosun literary men of the same era and on the diverse reactions, too. Through this, it was able to confirm the literary prize system in Chosun which was unfolded by the transplantation of the Akutagawa Award system and the reproduction structure in which the formation of the human network circulates toward the Akutagawa Award of Japan.
