초록

Han Yu was one of the main leaders of the Classical Prose Movement at his time, Middle Tang. His achievement in Classical Prose Creation has a vital influence to the literary history and was highly appreciated. One the other hand, the evaluation on his style of poem-composing has a controversial. It's because he compose poetry introducing prose elements into the poetry.
This paper will make comparative study on how the scholar in Korea and China evaluated the Han Yu's poetry. For this study I choose two books: ≪XinghuSishuo≫ by Li Yi in Joseon Dynasty and ≪OubeiShihua≫ by Zao Yi in Qing Dynasty.
≪XinghuSishuo≫ by Li Yi is a book about what Li Yi realizes by reading, experiencing, listening and seeing in the form of memorandum. It is kind of essay about short subject what Li Yi thinks. <Poetry and prose part> in ≪XinghuSishuo≫, composed of 3 parts and 378 chapters. has two-thirds of poetry and writings, which has various contents from the general opinion about the poetry to the explanation about the fragmentary poetic diction and version.
≪OubeiShihua≫ composed of 12 volumes, is the main book about criticism of poems. From vol. 1 to 10, it specializes about 10 poets. Especially in Vol 3 it focuses on the Han Yu's poetry and describes the Zao Yi's view about Han Yu's poetic world.
Li Yi asserts that Han Yu's created his own unique style of poem-composing, which can not be found in any other poets. Zao Yi found contemporary spirit in Han Yu's poetry and understand the characteristic of Yi wen wei shi (以文爲詩). It shows that Li Yi and Zao Yi has evaluated Han Yu's poetry by both their own way and objective way.
