『高麗末 和寧府 戶籍大帳』 斷片의 전래 경위와 순서 복원 ('Hwaryeongbu Family Registry' in Late Goryeo Dynasty & Orderly Recovery)

초록

이 글은 『北路陵殿誌』, 『北道陵殿誌』, 『朝鮮王朝實錄』, 『承政院日記』, 『日省錄』, 『儀曹別謄錄』, 『宗廟修改謄錄』 등에서 『高麗末 和寧府 戶籍大帳』 단편 관련 문헌 기사를 새로이 발굴·분석하였고, 또한 전래 경위를 통하여 작성 지역이 和寧府임을 명확하게 확정하였다. 본 논문은 이 자료의 성격이 호적대장임을 다시 강조하였으며, 호적대장으로서의 새로운 특징에 대해 언급하였다. 아울러 糊背成軸된 상태를 분석하여 의도적인 할출은 없었으며 정돈된 軸을 제작하기 위하여 여백 부분에 대한 절단이 糊背成軸시 행해졌을 가능성에 대해 언급하였다.
기존의 연구에서 제1폭의 제1행이 조선시대 호적대장의 內題와 유사한 점에 대해서는 주목하지 못했다. 이글에서는 이에 주목하여 제1폭의 제1행이 조선시대 호적대장 內題의 기재 양식과 매우 유사하다는 점을 밝혔다. 그리고 이어지는 제2행도 조선시대 호적대장에서 內題 다음 행에 표시되는 호구 조사 지역명 기재 양식과 동일하다는 것도 밝혔다. 그리고 제1폭 제5행에 기재된 ‘갖춘 숫자’인 ‘壹’, ‘仟’, ‘參’ 등을 통해서도 제1폭이 호적대장의 기준에서 기재된 것임을 피력하였다. 그리고 『高麗末 和寧府 戶籍大帳』 단편 제2폭의 戶籍事目을 「慶尙道地理誌序」와 비교하여 기능적 동일성을 확인하여 제2폭을 호적대장의 첫머리에 위치하는 것으로 추정하였다. 또 제3폭이 ‘食實封 參百戶’의 일부일 가능성을 언급하여 제1폭 다음에 위치할 가능성에 대해 언급하였다.
이상과 같은 연구의 결과로 『高麗末 和寧府 戶籍大帳』 단편에 대한 기존의 연구가 다시 검토되어 보다 정교해질 수 있는 기반이 마련되었다. 그리고 조선시대 호적대장의 특징도 고려시대 호적대장의 특징과 비교해서 고찰할 수 있는 계기가 마련되었다. 특히 제1폭에 수록된 노비 호구를 ‘食實封 參百戶’의 일부일 가능성을 제기하여 앞으로 이 문제를 새로이 연구해야 할 문제로 인식하였다.

영어초록

This paper confirmed that "Hwaryeongbu Family Registry" was created in the region of Hwaryeongbu (currently located in the Northeastern part of the Korean Peninsula) to contain records of families who lived their during the late the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392). The confirmation is based on analyses of related articles and documentary records gleaned from diverse old books including Buknoneungjeonji, Bukdoneungjeonji, Joseonwangjosilrok, Seungjeongwonilgi, Ilseongno, Euijobyeoldeungrok, Jongmyogyesudeungrok.

Besides, this paper focuses on how Hwaryeongbu Family Registry have been passed down and analyzed the method in which it was created. In the process, this paper found that there were no intentional removals in the making process and raised the possibility that some unused space in papers were trimmed to make such roll-type registry books.

Previously, few paid much attention to the fact that the first line of the first section in Hwaryeongbu Family Registry was assigned for titles, which is similar in style to such record books during the Joseon Dynasty (1392~1910). This paper also confirmed that the first line has many similarities with family registry books during the Joseon Dynasty and found that the following second line indicates in which region the consensus was conducted, a similar feature seen in Joseon's family registry books.

In the fifth line of the first section, this paper found such capital numbers written in Chinese character as "one," "thousand," and "three," which also showed the books were written for family registry in terms of style. By comparing the family registry book and Kyeongsangdojirijiseo, this paper confirmed that the second section serves as an introduction or a preface of a book and speculated it must be re-located next to the forefront.

In addition, this paper mentioned the possibility that the third section of the book is somehow related to "Siksilbong 300 family unit scheme," devised by old dynasties to allow public servants to collect taxes from 300 families in their region in return for their national contribution.

I believe this paper has provided much information on 'Hwaryeongbu Family Registry" which is enough to prompt reviews and more precise research on the old records created centuries ago. Also, it laid the groundwork for future research in comparing family registry books written both in the Goryeo and Joseon Dynasties. Among other things, this paper succeeded in drawing interest again in the possibility that the family records for slaves seen in the first section might be related to the Siksilbong 300 family unit scheme.
