중국 현대광장의 유형별 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Typological Characteristics of Contemporary Chinese Squares)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 중국의 광장을 체계적으로 유형화하여 현대 도시의 다양한 공공 생활 요구를 충족하고 복잡성을 다루기 위한 통합적인 사고방식이 필요하다고 판단이 내렸다. 본 연구의 목적은 유형학 방법을 활용하여 광장을 재분류하고 사례 분석을 통해 각 유형의 특성을 추출하고 유형별 특성을 제시하는 것이다. 유형 분류를 통해 현상을 개념화하고 체계화하여 향후 각 유형의 특성을 강화하여 공공 자원을 효과적으로 활용하고 각각의 가치를 극대화할 수 있기를 기대하여 도시 광장의 이론 형성에 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다. (연구방법) 첫째, 중국 광장에 대한 변천과 연구 현황을 고찰하고 중국 광장의 유형별 특성을 탐색할 필요성을 제시하였다. 둘째, 유형학과 광장 기본 분류에 선행연구를 고찰하여 유형학을 활용하는 특성을 고려해서 광장을 이차적으로 유형화하였고 재정의 하였다. 셋째로, 선행연구를 통해 광장의 특성을 추출하였으며 사례분석의 기준을 삼았고 중국 현대광장을 대상으로 사례분석을 통해 유형별 특성을 탐색하였다. (결과) 첫째, 광장에 관련 선행연구를 통해 접근성, 사용성, 경관성, 연계성, 지역성, 지속성, 지원성, 교류성, 개방성 9가지 광장 특성을 도출하였다. 둘째, 사용 현황을 기준으로 도출한 교통완화 허브형, 상업협력 재생성, 문화보존 강화형, 소통증진 활력형, 선도개발 융합형을 유형학 활용하는 방법을 통해 허브매개형, 데마주도형, 창조융합형의 세 가지 광장 유형을 도출하였다. 셋째, 사례분석을 통해 허브매개형 광장은 연속성과 지속성이라는 특성을 가지며, 테마주도형 광장은 문화의 테마를 강조하며 랜드마크로서 도시의 이미지를 심화시킬 지역성, 경관성, 개방성이라는 특화되어 있다는 것으로 나타났다. 창조융합형 광장 새로운 조성한 광장으로 도시의 최신 발전 추세를 보여주었으며 경관성과 연계성이 상대적으로 낮은 점수로 나타냈다. (결론) 이는 광장을 조성할 때 주변 경관과 주변 시설 간의 연결을 다소 소홀한 부분이 있어 보인다. 이 상황에서는 광장의 개발에 중점을 두고 있으며, 앞으로의 개발 및 재건축할 때 주변 건물과 조화를 이루며 사용자에게 풍부한 야외 공간 경험을 제공하는 데 주의를 기울여야 더 통일적인 도시 이미지를 도모할 수 있다. 본 연구 동서양 광장에서 문화적 경계를 허물고 통합하는 유형화 방식을 통해 도출하는 3가지 유형과 특성은 광장의 역할을 잡으면서 도시 공공자원을 최대한 활용하여 도시 이미지를 향상하게 시키길 기대한다. 본 연구는 주관적인 도출하는 한계가 있어 더 디테일 한 광장 유형 탐색에 대한 후속 객관적 검증 연구를 할 계획이 있다.

영어초록

(Research Background and Purpose) In order to address the various public life needs and complexities of modern cities in China, an integrated strategy was deemed necessary to systematically categories Chinese squares. The aim of this investigation is to reclassify squares using typological methods, extract features of each type through case analysis, and present the distinctive attributes. By conceptualising and systematically categorising phenomena into types, it will be possible to focus on enhancing the properties of each type in future studies. This, in turn, will enable more effective utilization of public resources and the maximization of their respective values, contributing to the development of urban square theories. (Research Method) Firstly, this study conducted a review of the evolution and research trends related to Chinese squares, highlighting the necessity of investigating distinct square types' the unique characteristics. Secondly, a thorough reclassification and redefinition of squares has been conducted, incorporating typological considerations based on a comprehensive review of previous studies on typology and square classification. Thirdly, by drawing on previous research, characteristics of squares were extracted, case analysis criteria were applied, and the distinctive features of each square type were explored through case studies of contemporary Chinese squares. (Results) Initially, this study drew upon previous research regarding public squares to establish nine crucial features: accessibility, usability, landscape, connectivity, locality, sustainability, support, exchange, and openness. Subsequently, three distinct types of square were delineated: hub-mediated squares, theme-led squares, and creative convergence squares, classified as transportation-relaxation hub squares, commercial cooperation and regeneration squares, and cultural preservation and reinforcement squares, respectively. Lastly, case analyses unveiled that hub-mediated squares emphasize continuity and coherence, while theme-led squares prioritize cultural themes, specializing in locality, landscape, and openness to enhance the city's image as a landmark. The newly constructed plaza represents the latest urban development trend, albeit with noticeably inferior ratings in terms of landscape and connectivity. (Conclusion) It seems that the connection between the surrounding landscape and facilities was somewhat overlooked during the square's creation. Given this situation, the emphasis has been on square development. However, future development and renovation efforts should prioritize enhancing the outdoor experience for users. This study has identified three square types and their respective characteristics through a typological approach that transcends cultural boundaries between the East and West. It is anticipated that these findings will contribute to enhancing the urban image by optimizing the city's public resources through the role of the square. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that this study has limitations in terms of subjective derivation. Consequently, there are plans to conduct follow-up objective verification studies to delve into more detailed square typologies.
