고시조에 수용된 '벗' 의 유형과 주제의식- 『韓國時調大事典』을 중심으로 (The types and acceptance aspects of 'friend' in sijo Focused on 『Korea Sijo Unabridged Dictionary』)

초록

본 연구는 시조에 나타난 벗 소재의 작품 추출과 작자, 그리고 유형과 주제의식을 중심으로 살펴보고 그 의미를 밝혀 보았다. 첫째, 시조에 나타난 벗 소재의 작품은 총 231수로 단시조 196수, 장시조 35수가 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 벗을 소재로 한 작가는 유명씨가 74명에 147수이다. 시기적으로는 조선 중후기에 다소 많이 창작되었으며 작자층은 양적으로는 문신과가객이다. 다음으로 벗의 유형은 인간 이 8항목에 총 빈도수는 146회, 동물 이 8항목에 28회, 식물 이 6항목에 7회, 자연물 이 8항목에 21회, 기타가 10항목에 10회가 나타나고 있다. 둘째, 벗을 통한 주제의식을 살펴보았다. 먼저 우도와 참된 삶의 경계 는 우도와 부귀공명, 그리고 위정자의 경계 등으로 세분화하여 규명해 보았다. 다음으로풍류와 한은의 흥취 는 풍류와 한가함, 그리고 은둔으로 나누어 벗을 통한 흥취를밝혀 보았고 마지막으로 충효와 우국의 구가 는 군주의 감은과 부모에 대한 효성,그리고 우국충절과 태평성대로 그 주제의식을 구체적으로 밝혀 보았다. 끝으로 시조에 수용된 벗의 역할과 의미를 살펴보았는데 먼저 선조들의 벗에 대한 인식은 광범위하게 나타나고 있다는 점과 시조에 나타난 다양한 벗의 대상은 작자의 심리상태는 물론 시적 분위기를 효과적으로 표현하고 있다는 점, 그리고 시조에 수용된 벗은 내용전개의 입체감과 유연성을 주고 있다는 점 등을 확인 할 수 있었다.이처럼 시조는 다양한 인물과 대상을 벗으로 인식하여 수용하였다. 이러한 대상들은 작자가 표현하고자하는 시적 분위기를 고조시킬 뿐만 아니라 주제를 효과적으로 드러내기 위한 문학적 장치로 수용하였음을 알 수 있었다.

영어초록

We have elucidated the meanings examining the types of acceptance aspects as well as analyses of work and authors in relation to ‘friends’ in sijo. They are summarized as follows：First, we analyzed works in which ‘friends’ in sijo were employed as materials. For sijo whose materials are friends, it was found there are total 231 pieces with short sijo 196, and long sijo 35. In addition, authors with real names who employed friends as their materials are 74 people and their works are 147 pieces. For materials of friends accepted in sijo, many works were created in the late Chosun Dynasty. On the other hand, we could find out that for the base of writers who wrote sijo employing friends as their materials, literary people and poets are the main class. And we examined the types of friends in sijo：Characters have 8 items and total frequency was 146 times, animal types were 8 items with 28 times, plant types were 6 items with 7 times, nature types were 8 items with 21times, and others were 10 items with 10 times. The most designated friends among them were acquaintances, of course.
Second, we examined the acceptance aspects of friends in sijo. The first is ‘boundary between likelihood and life’ and we examined it subdividing into boundary between likelihood and honor and wealth, and luxury, and boundary of politicians. The next is entertainment of leisure and appreciation for the arts , and we examined entertainment through friends dividing them into appreciation for the arts, leisure and life in seclusion, and finally ‘filial piety and patriotic sentiment’are gratitude for monarchs and affection for parents, patriotic royalty and reign of peace as we confirmed the acceptance aspects in detail.
Lastly, we investigated the roles and meaning of friends employed in sijo and it was found that first,our ancestors’ recognition of friends was extending over a wide range, and that objects of friends in sijo effectively express poetic atmosphere as well as authors’ mentality, and that friends accepted in sijo show flexibility and solidity of developing content etc.
