초록

이 글은 白下 尹淳의 문학관을 살펴보고자 한 글이다. 백하 윤순은 조선 후기 소론계열을 대표하는 관료이자 문인․학자의 한 사람이면서 조선 書風의 맥을 잇는 대표적인 서예가로, 현재까지 윤순에 대한 연구는 대부분이 그의 서예에서 이루어졌다. 이런 현상은 그가 서예 방면에서 이룩한 성취가 다른 부분보다 상대적으로 크게 부각되었기 때문이기도 하지만, 현재 전하는 윤순 관련 자료가 상당히 소략하여 서예 이외의 부분을 온전하게 살펴보기 어렵기 때문이기도 하다. 하지만 당대 윤순이 이룩했던 다양한 방면에서의 성취를 생각해본다면 윤순을 온전히 이해하기 위해서는 그에 대한 전체적인 검토가 필요한데, 그 시작은 문학 방면에서 이루어져야 하며, 문학관 이해가 문학 연구에 선행되어야 한다.
윤순의 문학에 대한 주변의 평가를 살펴보면 그의 문학관이나 문학적 특징에 대해 구체적으로 확인할 수 있는 내용은 그다지 보이지 않는다. 대부분의 자료가 당대 윤순이 지녔던 문학적 명성에 관한 것이고, 그 외의 내용에 대해서는 문집의 서문과 윤순의 행장 일부를 통해 추정할 수 있을 뿐이다. 그렇지만 이 추정을 통해 윤순의 문학이 文章輔國을 목적에 둔 것으로, 윤근수 이후 이어져 내려온 家系의 문학 경향과 소론계열, 특히 그중에서도 강화학파의 일원이었던 그의 學脈과 政派의 문학 전통을 잇고 있는 것이었었음을 알 수 있다. 그는 이런 문학을 창작하기 위해 수식과 기교에 주목하기보다는 내용을 중심으로 작품을 창작했고, 典範으로 선택한 글의 본질에 부합하는 간결한 문장을 선호했으며, 문학의 창작을 쉽게 생각하지 않았고 또 많은 작품을 창작하기 위해 애쓰지도 않았다. 시에서도 수식과 기교보다 내용을 중심으로 하여 시 속에 자신의 지향 세계와 의식 세계를 오롯하게 담고자 했다.
윤순은 현실적 효용을 이룰 수 있는, 감정과 내용이 진실한 문학을 추구했고, 그런 문학이 문학다운 문학일 수 있다고 여겼다. 그렇기 때문에 그는 질박하고 순수하며 수식이나 기교보다 내용에 주목한, 實心을 담아 實見과 實得을 얻을 수 있는 문장을 올바른 문장으로 보았으며, 진실한 감정에 의해 자연스럽게 지어진 시를 올바른 시라고 여겼다.
이런 특성은 윤순이 감정과 내용이 진실한 문학을 통해 현실적 효용을 추구하여 감정과 내용의 진실성을 문학 창작의 가장 기본적인 요소로 보았고, 문학을 통한 현실적인 효용의 구현을 문학의 최종적인 목표로 생각했다는 것과 인위적이고 기교에 가득한 수식이나 용어를 사용한 화려한 문학을 부정하고 질박하고 순수하며 자연스러운 문학을 추구하여, 수식이나 기교보다 작자의 감정과 내용을 문학의 중심에 두었으며, 기이하고 새롭거나 단순히 전범을 모방하는 문학의 창작 경향을 부정했다는 것을 알 수 있게 한다.

영어초록

This article is to examine the Baekha Yoon Soon’s literature view. Baekha Yoon Soon is a representative a bureaucrat who represents the Soron fraction in the late Joseon Dynasty and is one of the literary and scholar, and a calligrapher who connects the spirit of Joseon’s style of penmanship. To date, most of the research on Yoon Soon has been done in his caligraphy field. This phenomenon is due to the fact that the accomplishments he achieved in the caligraphy field are relatively more prominent than other parts, and the current data related to the Yoon Soon is very small and it is difficult to fully examine the part other than the caligraphy. However, considering the accomplishments of the Yoon Soon's various aspects of the present age, it is necessary to thoroughly understand the Yoon Soon, and the beginning of the study should be done in the literary field, and the understanding of the literary view should be preceded by the literary research.
If you look at the surrounding evaluation of the literature of Yoon Soon, there is not much to confirm about his literary view or literary characteristics. Most of the data are about the literary reputation of the contemporary Yoon Soon, and the other contents can be estimated through the preface of a collection of works and the records of he's doing he's lifetime of Yoon Soon. However, this estimation suggests that the literature of Yoon Soon is based on ‘Helping the Country through literature’, which is related to the literary tendency of pedigree that has been followed since Yoon Geunsoo and the literary tradition of his schools and faction which was a member of Soron faction, especially among Kanghwa School. He created works based on contents rather than focusing on formula and technique to create such literature, preferred simple sentences that correspond to the essence of the writings chosen as examples, did not think about the creation of literature easily, and did not try to create many works. In poetry, I tried to include my own oriented world and consciousness world in poetry, focusing on contents rather than formula and technique.
The literature of Yoon Soon shows he pursued that the literature which can achieve realistic usefulness, and the literature which emotion and contents can be true, and it is considered that such literature can be literary literature. Therefore, it is simple and unadorned and pure, and focuses on contents rather than formula or technique, and It shows that he takes the sentences that can obtain the sincerity sees and realistic got with true heart and it shows that the poems naturally created by the true emotion were regarded as the correct poem.
Literature of true emotion and content, and saw the authenticity of emotion and content as the most basic element of literary creation. He thought that the realization of realistic usefulness through literature was the ultimate goal, and denied colorful literature using artificial and skillful formulas or terms, pursued a rich, pure and natural literature, It is found that the author has denied the tendency of writing literature that imitates strange, new, or simply example.
