조선시대 봉황문의 상징성과 조형 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Symbolism and Formative Characteristics of Oriental Phoenix Patterns in the Joseon Dynasty)

초록

봉황문은 중국에서 전래돼 오늘날에 이르기까지 시대와 소재에 따른 여러 가지 상징성과 장식성을 갖춘문양으로 계승 되어져 왔다. 목적에 따른 여러 가지소재의 접목으로 다각적 표현방법의 확장이라는 전통미술과 디자인 문화의 중요한 조형 표현의 사례로 오늘날 다양한 분야에서 해석되어지고 있다.
본 연구는 오늘날의 디자인 분야와 현대공예 영역에서의 다양한 응용과 활용에 도움을 주고자 다음과 같은 과정으로 진행하여 소재에 따른 조형적 특성과 그조형이 의미하는 상징성에 관한 여러 가지 결과를 도출하였다.
첫째, 서론으로 연구목적과 연구방법 및 범위에 대하여 서술하였다. 연구 범위는 조선시대 장식품과 건축물의 나타나는 봉황문으로 국한하였으며, 연구 방법은 문헌 연구와 선행 자료(전시 자료, 인터넷 자료)를수집 조사하여 내용 분석 하였다.
둘째, 본론으로 조선시대 유물에 나타나는 봉황문의유래와 특성을 연구하여 그 상징성과 쓰임에 따른 봉황문을 분류하고, 그 조형적 특성과 조형에 따른 상징성을 분석 하였다.
셋째, 연구결과로 장식품과 건축물, 집물(什物) 소재로 나무, 섬유, 흙, 금속을 구분하여 봉황문이 활용된익공, 능화판, 베갯모, 버선본집, 기와, 도자, 비녀, 노리개, 장석 등의 차별화된 디자인 조형 특성과 상징성을알 수 있었다.
본 연구를 통하여 봉황문의 상징성과 전통 문양의 발전 및 봉황문의 디자인 개발에 있어 중요한 자료로이용되길 기대한다.

영어초록

Phoenix pattern has been passed down from China and has been inherited to a pattern with plural symbolism and decorativeness by era and material until today. It is interpreted in various fields today as an example of an important formative expression of traditional art and design culture, which is a combination of various materials according to purpose and expansion of multilingual expression method.
This research supports various applications and uses in the field of today’s design and modern craft industry, and the person goes to the next step and goes to the next step and selects some of the modeling characteristics by the material and the symbolism that the modeling implies Results were derived.
First of all, the purpose and research method and scope of the research were described. The scope of the research is limited to phoenix patten indicating the decoration items and buildings of the Joseon Dynasty, and the method of research collected and investigated literature research and precedent materials (exhibition materials, internet materials) and analyzed the contents.
Secondly, we studied the origins and characteristics of the Phoenix-like pattern displayed in the relics of Joseon Dynasty, classified the phoenix pattern by its symbolism and use, and analyzed its modeling characteristics and symbolism by modeling.
Third, as a result of the research, the ornaments, the buildings, and the tiles are divided into wood, textile, soil, and metal, and the phoenix patterns, acupuncture boards, pillows, Korean socks case, tiles, pottery, hairpins, It was able to derive differentiated design formative characteristics and symbolism.
Through this research we hope to use it as an important material in the development of symbolism of Phoenix babe pattern, development of traditional patterns and design development of phoenix patterns.
