명사술어문의 시제에 관한 연구 (On the Tense system of Noun-Predicate Sentences in Japanese and korean)

초록

本稿は時間的限定性の観点から現代日本語と韓国語の＜ハナシアイ＞文(主に叙述文の終止法)を対象とし、名詞述語文のテンスについて動詞述語文と対照させながら論じたものである。その主な論点と結果をまとめると、次のようになる。まずは、名詞述語文のテンスには大きく二種類があることを確認した。一つは動詞文と同様に「発話時(speech of time)」を基準とし、過去形と非過去形とを用いるタイプである。もう一つのタイプは発話時ではなく、「話し手の視点」によって無標形式の非過去形と有標形式の過去形とを使い分けするものである。第二点は、名詞述語文の「発話時」を基準にする場合、動詞述語文との相違の一つは非過去形の用法にある。つまり、動詞文の非過去形は基本的に「現在」を含まないのに対し、動作性名詞以外の名詞文の非過去形は「現在」を含むのである。第三点は名詞述語文が「発話時」を基準とする場合は時間的限定性と述語名詞の意味と密接な関連がある、という点である。すなわち、時間的限定性の観点から一時性を持つ＜動作性名詞＞と＜状態名詞＞の場合は基本的にここに属する。一方、通常時間的限定性を持たない＜本質＞＜特性＞＜関係＞の場合は基本的にテンスが分化しない。しかしながら、1)その述語になる特性や本質、関係の可変性の程度によって、2)量的な性質を表す場合、3)期時副詞との共起する場合、4)複合述語を構成する場合などは過去の意味を実現するようになり、テンスが分化する、という点を指摘また確認した。

영어초록

The goal of this paper is to investigate the past tense of noun-predicate sentences from a perspective of temporal localization. Main arguments are as follows:First, tense of noun-predicate sentences is determined in two ways: in accordance with speech of time as in verbal-predicated sentences and from the speaker’s point of view. In the latter case, past forms can be substituted by non-past forms depending on whether the speaker notes the judgement of the present or the modal meaning of the past.
In the former case where the tense of noun-predicate sentences is determined by speech of time, verbal-noun predicate sentences behave like verbal-predicate sentences; however, in the usage of non-past forms, they are slightly different from other noun-predicate sentences like statal noun-predicate sentences. Namely, the non-past forms of non verbal-noun predicate sentences (e.g., statal noun-predicate sentences) function as present markers while verbal-predicate sentences do not.
Lastly, in cases of verbal nouns or statal noun-predicate sentences which reveal temporal localization, tense is simply determined in accordance with speech of time. However, there are some exceptional cases where tense of nouns or noun-predicates lack of temporal localization is also determined by speech of time. For example, in the case of characteristic nouns lack of temporal localization, tense can be determined by speech of time under the following conditions: (i) they are property nouns, essence nouns or relative nouns; (ii) they are compound predicates; (iii) they contains long-term time adverbs; (iv) they are quantity nouns.
