몸의 현상학과 혼종성 관점의 재생공간 해석연구 - 산업유산 기반 문화공원을 중심으로 - (A study on the interpretation of regeneration space from the perspective of body phenomenology and hybridity - Focusing on cultural parks utilizing industrial heritage -)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 이전의 기능을 상실한 공간과 시설을 현대의 요구에 맞게 다시 디자인하는 사례가 최근 몇 년간 도시디자인의 주류를 이루었다. 도시 스프롤 및 환경 노후화에 따라 쇠퇴하는 공간을 재생하여 사회적, 경제적, 문화적 활성화를 도모하는 데 유용하게 활용된 하나의 전략인 것이다. 이에 개별 공간재생 사례를 해석하기 위한 연구들이 다수 진행되었고, 각 연구는랜드스케이프 어바니즘이 관점, 브랜딩 관점, 공간의 변증법 관점, 도시마케팅 관점, 셉테드 관점, 커뮤니케이션 관점 등 사례 분석을 위한 주요 관점들을 가지고 진행되었다. 그러나 ‘재생’이 태생적으로 함의하는 ‘혼종성’의 관점에서는 연구가 이루어지지 않았으며, 특히 현상학적 관점과 혼종성의 관점을 동시에 가지고 해석한 연구는 부재하였다. 이에 본고는 현상학적 관점에서 공간을 이해하고, 혼종성의 관점에서 공간재생을 이해하고자 하는 시도에서 시작하였다. 본고의 목적은 앞서 언급한 두가지관점에서 재생공간을 해석하고, 시사점을 도출하여 이론적 틀을 정립하는 것이다. (연구방법) 따라서 몸의 철학자라 불리는 모리스 메를로 퐁티의 현상학적 관점에서 공간을 해석하였고, 재생의 본질인 ‘혼종성’을 대상으로 공간 재생의 전제인 변증법적지양, 공간재생의 팔림세스트적 성격, 공간재생의 본질인 하이브티디티를 정리하였다. 문화공원으로 재생된 국내·외 산업유산네 개 사례로 연구대상을 한정 지은 후, 이 두 가지 관점에서 재생공간의 표현방식을 해석하였다. 이를 통해 궁극적으로 재생된공간의 특징과 경향성, 핵심요소를 도출하였다. (결과) 그 결과 첫째, 퐁티의 상하개념이 적극적으로 활용될 때 공간은 활기를 띤다. 시각적 체험을 넘어 몸 체험이 이루어지기 때문이다. 둘째, 빛의 표현은 공간과 체험하는 주체 간 상호연속적인 요소로 활용된다. 이는 공간을 매력적으로 만드는 요소이다. 셋째, 공간재생에는 장르적 혼종이 빈번하게 활용되며, 타 매체를 결합하는 방식은 공간에 다채로움을 준다. 넷째, 과거와 현재의 오브제를 병치하는 방식 또한 공간재생에 자주 활용되는 전략이며, 이는 오브제 본래의 용도를 벗어나 새로운 느낌을 부여한다. 다섯째, 좋은 조경설계가 과거와 현재의 오브제를 수식할 때, 운동성을 강화하여 공간에 생기를 준다. (결론) 공간 재생에 대한 요구는 오랫동안 이어질 것으로 예상된다. 좋은 재생 공간을 만드는 데에 설계자의 직관이나 미적 감각뿐 아니라 본고에서 정리된 이론적 토대가 기여할 수 있기를 기대한다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) Cases of redesigning spaces and facilities that previously lost their functions to meet modern needs have become the mainstream of urban design in recent years. It is a strategy that has been usefully used to promote social, economic, and cultural revitalization by regenerating declining spaces due to urban sprawl and environmental deterioration. Therefore, a number of studies have been conducted to interpret individual space regeneration cases, and each study has major points of view for case analysis, such as landscape urbanism, branding, urban marketing, CPTED, and communication. proceeded with However, no research has been conducted from the viewpoint of ‘hybridity’, which is inherently implied by ‘regeneration’, and in particular, there has been no research that has interpreted both the phenomenological and hybridity viewpoints at the same time. Accordingly, this study started with an attempt to understand space from a phenomenological point of view and to understand space regeneration from a point of view of hybridity. The purpose of this paper is to interpret the regeneration space from the two perspectives mentioned above, derive implications, and establish a theoretical framework. (Method) Therefore, space was interpreted from the phenomenological point of view of Maurice Merleau-Ponty, who is called the philosopher of the body. And organized Aufheben, the premise of spacial regeneraction, Palimpsest, the characteristic of spacial regeneraction, and Hybridity, the essence of spacial regeneraction, for ‘Hybridity’, the essence of regeneraction. After limiting the research subjects to four cases of domestic and foreign industrial heritages that were regenerated as cultural parks, the expression methods of regeneration spaces were interpreted from these two points of view. Through this, the characteristics and core elements of the ultimately regenerated space were derived. (Results) As a result, first, if Ponty's concept of top and bottom is actively utilized, the space becomes lively. This is because the physical experience goes beyond the visual experience. Second, the expression of light is used as a mutually continuous element between the space and the experiencing subject. This makes attractive space. Third, genre hybrids are frequently used for spatial reproduction, and the method of combining other media gives variety to the space. Fourth, the method of juxtaposing past and present objects is also a strategy often used for space reproduction, which gives a new feeling beyond the original purpose of the object. Fifth, When supporting the objects of the past and present through good landscape design, it strengthens the movement and gives life to the space. (Conclusions) The demand for spacial regeneraction is expected to continue for a long time. It is hoped that not only the designer's intuition and aesthetic sense, but also the theoretical foundations organized in this paper can contribute to creating a good play space.
