조선 시대 富平府의 삼국 시대 표기 계승 면명 표기에 대하여 (On the Myeonmyeong of Transcription Succession from the Era of the Three States in Bupyungbu of Chosun Dynasty)

초록

한자를 활용한 면명 표기가 감추어 놓고 있는 面名 표기의 참모습을 규명하기 위하여 이 글은 조선 시대 부평부의 面名 표기 자료를 광범위하게 수집하여 조선 시대 부평부 면명 표기가 가지는 근원적인 의미를 밝혔다.
이 연구에서 연구한 결과를 요약하여 제시하면 다음과 같다.
조선 시대 부평부에 있었던 방위의 면명으로 東面과 西面이 있었고, 또 上梧亭面과 下梧亭面의 경우 해당 지대의 높낮이로 구분된 것으로 추정하였다. 堂山面의 경우 자연지명 堂山에서 비롯된 것임을 말하였다. 同所井面의 경우 東所井面의 표기가 나타난 사실을 말하였으나 관련 자료가 없어 同所井의 의미에 대해 언급하지 못했다. 毛月串面의 毛月串을 ‘毛/뫼[山]+月/너머[越]+串/고지[岬]’ 정도의 구성으로 이해하여 毛月串이 ‘산 너머 고지’ 정도의 의미임을 밝혔으며 이 의미는 부평부의 治所를 기준으로 한 것임을 말하였다.
上梧亭面과 下梧亭面의 면명이 馬梧亭里에서 출발한 것임을 말하였고, 馬梧亭里의 馬梧亭이 ‘馬梧+亭’ 정도의 구성을 가지는 것으로 파악하고, 馬梧는 ‘마루<ᄆᆞᄅᆞ’의 의미임을 밝혔으나 亭의 의미를 규명하지는 못하였다. 石串面의 경우 평양부의 乭串坊을 제시하여 石串面의 石이 ‘돌/乭[石]’의 의미를 가짐을 밝혔다. 石川面의 경우 乭川의 차자 표기 자료를 제시하여 石川面의 石이 ‘돌’을 표기한 것임을 말하였다. 水呑面의 경우 水呑面을 水灘面의 이표기로 파악하여 水呑面의 水呑이 ‘水/물+呑[여울, 灘]’ 정도의 구성으로 水呑이 ‘물여울’ 정도를 표기한 것임을 밝혔다. 玉山面의 경우 玉毛面의 이표기를 제시하여 玉毛의 毛가 ‘뫼[山]’를 뜻하는 것임을 밝혔다. 黃魚面의 경우 黃魚의 이표기 發阿를 제시하고 黃魚의 발음형이 ‘바래/바라’일 가능성을 제시했다.
馬場面은 고구려 계통의 面名 表記로 파악하였다. 馬場이 ‘馬/마[水]+場/장[根]’ 정도의 구성을 가지는 것으로 이해하고, ‘馬/마’가 ‘물’을 뜻하는 고구려어임을 말하였고, 場/장은 ‘根[뿌리]’를 뜻하는 고구려어로 파악하였다. 이러한 근거에 기대어 馬場은 ‘물의 뿌리’를 표기한 것으로 파악하고 ‘물의 뿌리’는 한자어로는 水源임을 말하였다. 注火串面은 신라 계통의 면명 표기로 파악하였다. 고구려 지명 표기 主夫吐를 ‘主[쥴, 線]+夫[벌, 坪]+吐[둑]’ 으로 파악한 것에 근거하여 注火串이 ‘主[줄, 線]+火[벌, 坪]+串[고지, 岬]’ 정도의 구성을 가지는 것으로 신라 계통의 표기로 파악하였다.

영어초록

To investigate the realities of the myeonmyeong transcription using Chinese characters which conceals, this paper disclosed the fundamental meaning which the bupyeongbu myeonmyeong transcription in the Joseon Dynasty includes by collecting the related data extensively.
The results of this study can be summed up as follows.
The results revealed the fact that there were dongmyeon and seomyeon as the myeonmyeong of the directions which was in bupyeongbu of the Joseon Dynasty. In addition, it could be presumed that sangojeongmyeon and haojeongmyeon were diyided by the height. It was also mentioned that in the case of dangsanmyeon, it was originated from dangsan. which was a geographical place name. The case of dongsojeongmyeon(同所井面) referred to the fact that dongsojeongmyeon(東所井面) transcription appeared. However, since the related data was not found, we could not present the meaning of dongsojeong. Mowolgot in mowolgotmyeon was accepted as the construction of ‘mo/moe[san] + wol/neomeo[wol] + got/goji[gap].’ As a result, the meaning of mowolgot was suggested as the meaning which was ‘san neomeo goji.’ This showed the fact that the chiso of bupyeongbu was standards.
The results disclosed that the myeonmyeong of sangojeongmyeon and haojeongmyeon was originated from maojeongri and the maojeong of maojeongri consisted of ‘mao+jeong.’ Furthermore, they presented the fact that mao meant ‘maru<ma la.’ However, the meaning of jeong could not be identified. In the case of seokgotmyeon, the seok of it was identified as the meaning ‘dol/dol[seok] by presenting dolgotbang of pyengyangbu. In addition, in the case of seokchenmyeon(石川面), it was disclosed that seok of seokchenmyeon transcribed ‘dol’ by presenting the borrowed character of dolcheon(乭川). We found that sutanmyeon(水呑面) was a different transcription for sutanmyeon(水灘面). As a result, we identified the fact that the sutan(水呑) of sutanmyeon marked ‘mulyeowul’ in the construction of ‘su/mul+tan[yeowul, tan] In the case of oksanmyeon, the different transcription of okmomyeon was suggested. It was revealed that the mo of okmo means ‘moe[san].’ Pala was suggested as the different transcrtiption for the hwangeo of hwangeomyeon. Along with it, we presented the possibility that the pronunciation pattern can be ‘barae/bara.’Majangmyeon was understood as a mark of myeonmyeong originated from the filiation of Goguryeo. Given the details, Majang has the construction of ‘ma/ma[su]+jang/jang[keun].’ In this construction, ‘ma(馬)/ma’ meant ‘water’ and jang(場)/jang meaning ‘geun(根)[root] as Goguryeo words.’ On the basis of this, majang could be understood as the mark meaning ‘the root of water.’ We suggested that ‘the root of water’ could be transcribed as ‘suwon(水源).’ which is a chinese word.
Juhwagotmyeon was identified as a mark of myeonmyeong from the Silla filiation. On the basis of the fact that jubuto, the place name of Goguryeo, was understood as ‘ju[jyul, seon]+bu[beol, pyeong]+to[duk],’ we grasped that juhwagot was a mark from Silla filiation consisting of ‘ju[jyul, seon]+hwa[beol, pyeong]+got[goji, gap].’
