고려시기 金海의 治所城과 새로운 面 자료의 소개 (Gimhae(金海) Chiso Fortress(治所城) of Koryo Dynasty and Introduction of Newly Found Myeon(面))

초록

최근 경남 金海에서 高麗時代의 治所城 유적이 발굴되었다. 발굴 과정에서 출토된 유물 중에는 面과 관련된 명문이 새겨진 기와가 있었다. 필자는 본고의 주제와 관련되는 선행 논문을 이미 발표한 바가 있다. 최근 부산광역시와 경남 창원시에서 발굴된 고려시대 郡縣 治所城 4곳과 寺址로 추정되는 1곳의 유적에서 출토된 기와에 새겨진 面 관련 명문 자료를 보고했다. 본고의 작업은 이 선행 연구의 연장선상에서 이루어졌다.
김해 치소성의 서쪽의 두 곳과 남쪽의 두 곳을 합한 모두 네 곳에서 面에 관한 명문 기와가 출토되었다. 이 중에서 남쪽의 두 곳은 서쪽의 두 곳과는 달리 지리적으로 매우 인접한 곳이므로, 크게 보면 세 곳이라고 할 수 있다. 방위의 측면에서 보면, 서쪽과 남쪽의 두 방면에서 面 관련 명문 기와가 출토되었다. 이 글에서는 명문의 내용을 소개하고 분석하였다.

영어초록

The remains of Chiso Fortress(治所城) of Koryo Dynasty has recently been discovered in Gimhae, Kyungnam Province. Among the relics were roof tiles with inscriptions of myeon(面). The researcher has already made a presentation of the topic on the basis of the relics found in Busan and Changwon, Kyungnam. This is a follow-up research study.
According to the studies reported so far, the inscriptions of myeon have been found at four places of Gimhae Chiso Fortress ; more specifically, two sites in the west and south, respectively. Among these, the two sites in the south are closely adjacent, so the places are actually three.
The inscription found in the first area located at the west side of Gimhae Chiso Fortress is Seongseomyeonsokwa(城西面屬瓦) and it means 'the roof tile which belongs to the West Myeon of Gimhae Fortress Town. This fact implies that Gimhae Chiso Fortress was the central area and the findspot corresponds with the content of inscription.
An inscription with two words Nam/Nam(南/南) written laterally has been found in the second zone at the south of Gimhae Chiso Fortress. The excavation team tried to interpret the two words to have connection with South Myeon(南面), but this data source is shown to have one word South(南).
On the other hand, the roof tiles inscribed with the words Gimhae/gaeksa△dong(金海/客舍△東), Namjeong(南丁), East Myeon(東面), North Myeon(北面), and Bukmyeonmi(北面美) have been discovered in the third zone at the South of Gimhae Chiso Fortress. The roof tile inscribed with Gimhae/gaeksa△dong(金海/客舍△東) indicates that the guest house and Gimhae Chiso Fortress were build up together at the same time. There is a high possibility that Namjeong(南丁) is a person named Jeong(丁) who lived in South Myeon(南面) and Bukmyeonmi(北面美) is a certain person in North Myeon(北面).
The roof tiles have been discovered from East Myeon(東面) and North Myeon(北面), not South Myeon(南面) of Gimhae Chiso Fortress. This is understood that the roof tiles inscribed with East Myeon(東面) and North Myeon(北面) could be made in other areas or that people from other areas could participate in the construction of the fortress.
Three kinds of roof tiles such as Seongseomyeonsokwa(城西面屬瓦) line, Seongjacho(城子草) line, and another line, were discovered in the fourth zone at the west side of Gimhae Chiso Fortress. The careful examination of writing styles in the inscriptions of Seongseomyeonsokwa(城西面屬瓦) line shows that three or four groups of master craftsman participated in making the roof tiles with inscriptions of Myeon(面) found in the fourth zone. There is a possibility that storages were also built up while constructing Gimhae Chiso Fortress. This is because the third line of roof tiles could be used as storages, according to the meaning of ChiljinYeongman(七珍盈滿), one of the inscriptions. The roof tiles with Man(卍) inscription also indicates that the organization of buddhism or monastery could be mobilized in the construction of Gimhae Chiso Fortress.
