한국에서 몰트만의 수용과 이해 (A Study of Reception and Understanding of J. Moltmann in Korea)

초록

본 논문은 몰트만이 한국에서 어떻게 수용되고 이해되어왔는지를분석하고 평가하는 연구이다. 먼저 한국에서 이루어진 몰트만에 관한소개와 연구를 역사적으로 고찰하고, 몰트만과 한국교회 및 신학과의교류와 대화의 내용과 방식을 분석한 후, 최근까지 몰트만 신학사상이한국 신학자들과 한국 신학 형성에 어떻게 수용되고 이해되어왔는지를살펴본다. 특히 본 연구는 몰트만 신학의 6가지 핵심적 특성과 공헌들－역사책임적인 신학으로서 정치신학과 평화신학, 이해할 수 있는삼위일체론과 삼위일체 신학의 실천성, 삶과 생명을 위한 메시아적 신학, 생태학적 우주적 신학, 종말론의 새로운 지평과 만유구원론, 하나님나라를 지향하는 공적신학－이 한국교회와 한국 신학에 어떻게 영향을미치고 있는지를 구체적으로 고찰한다. 결론적으로 몰트만이 한국의 교회와 신학에 미친 영향을 평가하고 미래방향성을 전망한다.
몰트만의 다양하고 독창적이며 통전적인 신학은 현대신학 논의에상당한 기여를 하고 있을 뿐 아니라 한국교회와 신학에 지대한 영향을미치고 있으며, 21세기 세계신학 형성을 위해 유익한 통찰력과 방향을제시해준다. 한국교회는 그 어느 신학자보다도 몰트만을 가깝게 여기며그의 신학을 수용하고 이해하는 일에 적극적이었다. 몰트만 역시 한국교회를 사랑하며 한국 신학과 한국 신학자들에 대한 남다른 관심과 애정을 보여주었다. 몰트만은 오랫동안 한국인의 정치적 고난과 민중의고통을 이해하고 연대하였다. 또한 한국교회의 열정과 선교, 활기찬 영성에 감동하면서 이를 자신의 신학 안에 수용하기도 하였다. 몰트만의신학은 한국의 민중신학, 여성신학, 오순절신학, 통전적 신학 등에 큰영향을 끼쳤다. 몰트만과 한국교회와 한국신학은 지속적으로 깊은 교제와 연대를 통해 함께 성장해왔으며, 21세기 세계교회와 신학을 위해서도 함께 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구는 한국에서의 몰트만의 수용과 이해에 관한 역사적 고찰을 포함하고 있으며 이에 대한 신학적 분석과 평가를 비교적 종합적으로 다룬 연구로서의 가치를 지님으로써앞으로 전개될 몰트만 신학 연구의 초석이 될 수 있으리라 기대한다

영어초록

This paper is to analyze and evaluate how J. Moltmann has been received and understood in Korea. The presentations and researches on Moltmann conducted in Korea are first considered historically,then, the exchanges, dialogue contents and methods between Moltmann and Korean churches and theology are analyzed. Lastly,how Moltmann’s theological thoughts have been received and understood until recently by the Korean theologians in the formation of Korean theology are examined. This research particularly looks at the six core characteristics and contributions of Moltmann’s theology in details－Political theology and Peace theology as historically responsible theologies, the doctrine of the Trinity that can be understood and the practicability of the Trinity, Messianic theology for life, ecological and cosmic theology, a new prospect of eschatology and the universal salvation, Public theology aiming toward the Kingdom of God－and especially how these characteristics have affected the Korean churches and theology. In conclusion, this article evaluates how Moltmann has influenced Korean churches and theology and puts future directions into perspectives.
Moltmanns’ various, ingenious, holistic theology not only has made a significant contributions to the discussions of contemporary theology, but also had a profound effect on Korean churches and theology and presented valuable insights and directions for the formation of twenty-first century’s global theology. The Korean Church has had a regard for Moltmann than any other theologians and has been very enthusiastic in receiving and understanding his theology. Moltmann also loves the Korean Church and has shown special attention to and affection for the Korean theology and theologians. For a long time, Moltmann has understood and acknowledged the political sufferings and pains of Koreans. Moreover, he was moved by the passion, mission, and energetic spirituality of Korean churches, which he has accepted into his theology. Moltmann’s theology has made a great impact on the public theology, feminist theology, Pentecostal theology, and the Holistic theology of Korea.
Moltmann and Korean churches and theology have been growing together through a long-continuing understanding and solidarity, and together, will be able to contribute to the ecumenism and theology of the 21st century. This study includes not only the historical considerations on the reception and understanding of Moltmann in Korea,but the comprehensive theological analysis and evaluation is valuable in research. They are expected to be a groundwork for the future study on Moltmann’s theology that will unfold.
