들뢰즈의 거짓의 역량을 통해 본 아쿠타가와 류노스케의 덤불 속과 구로자와 아키라의 «라쇼몽» (Delueze’s puissance du faux in Akutagawa Ryunosuke’s Yabunonaka and Kurosawa Akira’s Rashomon)

초록

Akutagawa Ryunosuke, who is one of the most admirable novelists in Japan, has made a significant legacy in the 20th century with his novels. Rashomon and Yabunonaka are particularly the most delightful works that depict a chaotic situation in which the truth and the false endlessly fight against. His works influence to many artists, and Kurosawa Akira’s film Rashomon is too one of them. Akira combines Ryunosuke’s two short stories which are Rashomon and Yabunonaka into a single film, and it is greatly succeeded in representing Ryunosuke’s quintessential thought. What Ryunosuke wants to describe in the works is numerous possibilities on a single event, so I would like to study his works with Gilles Delueze’s theory which is ‘puissance du faux; force of falsehood.’ The term ‘puissance du faux’ is appeared in Delueze’s Cinema II. By his opinion, a single event must have numerous possibilities which can be chosen as a truth because we only extract an analyzed truth from the fact of the event.
Although Delueze is one of the world famous philosophers, the theory ‘puissance du faux’ is not used in the field of film or literature critique. I believe that the theory must be suitable and effective to analyze Ryunosuke and Akira’s works because their novel and film are filled with veiled element which can be chosen as a truth anytime and vice-versa. Ryunosuke and Akira’s works have not yet been studied with this theory, so this work would widen the possibilities to analyze their works.
I would like to research the power relationships of truth and false in the characters of their works, and by comparing with other texts in order to figure out what Delueze wants to show the theory. I hope that this study would be a good opportunity for making a new connection between Deleuze’s philosophy and Japanese works particularly in film and literature.
