Missionaries in Islamic Lands: Raymond Lull, Samuel Zwemer, and Kenneth Cragg

It is true that the coxistence of Christianity and Islam for the last 1400 years have created numerous bed things and tragedies. Even in such a militant relationship, there have been missionaries who sacrificed themselves to the foundation to save Islamic souls. This study introduces three missionaries who are believed to have made an outstanding contribution in the history of Islamic missions and examines their theology and methodology.
The first missionary was Raymond Lull (1232-1316) of the 13th century. Lull was a missionary, philosopher, poet, novelist, and left over 4,000 books and documents. He was far ahead of his time, expressed his unfailing love for the Islamic people after meeting Jesus Christ, and was eventually martyred in the Islamic region. He was fluent in Arabic, tried to use rational arguments in the debate between Christianity and Islam, and was fearless in proclaiming the gospel to them.
The second missionary was Samuel Marinus Zwemer (1867-1952) of the 19th century. Zwemer is nicknamed "the Apostle for Islam." He has a diverse career for Islamic missions, and his passion for Islamic missions is unrivaled. His mission motive was the simplicity of following Christ's command. He violently criticized the mission of the liberals, who ignored the gospel and emphasized only good works.
The third missionary is Kenneth Cragg (1913-2012) of the 20th century. There is no doubt that Crack is called the supreme expert in 20th-century Islamic mission. He was a Christ-centered missionary. His method of mission towards Islam is commonly called the "Dialogical Approach." Clearly, the Islamic people are also the subjects of evangelism and our neighbors. Also, the Great Commission of Jesus Christ is still the missional command we must follow. In reality, and historically, Islamic missions are not easy. Nevertheless, the passion, theology and methodology of the three missionaries mentioned in this study provide very important and valuable guidance in doing the Islamic mission of this age.
