    Yi Yuk-sa does not describe the character in detail in “The Notebook of the Outsider” and “The Yellow Leaf Story,” nor does he closely pursue the causal relationship of the event’s development. The two works are not general realism novels that value the causal relationship between character descriptions and the development of events, but rather writing that embodies the author’s ideas (philosophy) through symbolic and fantasy techniques. It can be called literarization of philosophy, or narrative of ideas. “The Notebook of the Outsider” embodies the character R’s attitude of life as an outsider, that is, his self-sacrificing will to “walk the road” forever. “The Yellow Leaf Story” also embodies the idea of “walking the road” in the dark forever in search of “life” through the stories of “A Shadow ghost” and A Shadow ghost’s dreams. This style of writing is typical of Nietzsche’s “Thus Spake Zarathustra,” and Lu Xun, who was influenced by “Thus Spake Zarathustra,” also shows such characteristics through the creation of “Diary of a Madman” or “Wild grass.” As Lu Xun did, Yi Yuk-sa was also influenced by Nietzsche’s “Thus Spake Zarathustra,” so Yi Yuk-sa was able to criticize Lu Xun’s literature and translate Lu Xun’s works from his ideological and literary resonance. Yi Yuk-sa created “The Notebook of the Outsider” and “The Yellow Leaf Story,” which embodied the ideas of will using a certain literary imagination from Nietzsche’s “Thus Spake Zarathustra,” and he was exposed to Lu Xun’s literature during that period. As such, the meeting with Nietzsche and Lu Xun is important when Yi Yuk-sa enters the “Road of Literature” and tries to create early works. Moreover, his meeting with Lu Xun Literature in the process of transitioning from journalistic writing to literary creation has another meaning in that it has aroused his literary awareness. Yi Yuk-sa actually walked the path of his will to the end, and finally opened the way for Korea’s regeneration. Lu Xun actually spent his entire life practicing the cry and self-reflection of the “Mad man”, walking the path of the strong will that the “Wanderer” walked to the end, and making an absolute contribution to opening the way for China’s regeneration after death.
