한국교육문화론의 연구사 비판 - 한국문화교육론의 성찰적 이해와 새로운 방법 모색을 위한 시론 (An Essay for Creating a new methodology in Theories of Educating Korean Culture)

초록

이 글은 세계적 규모로 성장한 한국어교육에서 그동안 논의되어 온 한국문화교육론에 관한 쟁점을 정리하고 한국문화교육론의 새로운 방법을 모색하기 위한 시론적 성격의 글이다. 대내외적인 상황에서 한국문화교육의 필요성이 점증하고 있는 최근의 상황에서 한국문화교육을 대상으로 하는 학문적 연구풍토의 쇄신과 해외 한국어교육 현장의 요구변화에 호응하기 위해 한국문화교육론의 근본적인 성찰이 요구되는 것이다.
한국문화교육론은 크게 기능적·도구적 관점과 과정적·목적론적 관점의 논리로 전개되어 왔다. 한국어교육이 목표로 하는 효과적인 의사소통 능력 함양을 위해 한국문화교육의 필요성이 제기된 이후 구체적인 문화교육의 내용과 교수요목 및 교수법 등에 관한 한국문화교육론의 체계가 요청된 것은 1990년대부터였다. 한국문화교육이 현행 한국어교육의 목표인 의사소통능력 배양을 위한 기능적 역할로 한정되면서 한국어교육을 위한 도구적 관점으로 포괄되는 한국문화는 규범화된 교육대상으로 설정되었다. 의사소통능력의 향상을 목표로 하는 기능적·도구적인 관점의 한국문화교육은 교육내용인 문화의 범주화에서 시작하여 교수요목, 교수방법 등의 체계를 구축하고 있는 것은 분명하지만 한국문화교육의 대상을 대폭 확대하고 있는 점은 재고할 필요가 있다.
한편 의사소통 능력으로서의 함양과 관련된 문화교육뿐만 아니라 학습하는 문화를 이해하고 표현하는 문화능력의 중요성을 강조하는 논리는 목적론적인 관점으로 제안되며 한국문화교육의 고유한 목표를 설정한다. 문화능력함양을 포섭하는 방법과 이론을 적극 탐구할 것을 주문하거나 학습자의 필요에 의한 세목을 반영하는 지역학적 관점의 문화교육을 제안하며 한국문화교육의 독립성을 강조하고 있는 것이다. 이같은 주장을 펼치는 논자들의 한국문화교육론은 문화를 의사소통능력 함양을 위한 기능적 대상으로 이해하기보다는 문화를 목적론적으로 규정하며 범주화된 대상으로 한정하지 않고 자기인식의 과정에 초점을 둔 문화능력의 함양을 교육의 목표로 삼아야 할 것을 핵심내용으로 한다.
한국문학교육론의 학문적 체계와 교육적 효율성 제고를 위해 과정적 목적론적 관점의 논리가 기능적이고 도구적인 관점에 대한 반성적 능력으로서 역할을 수행하며 현행 한국문화교육에 관한 보완책을 지속적으로 제기하여야 한다. 광범위하게 전개되고 있는 한국문화교육의 현장에서 효과적인 교육이 진행될 수 있도록 교수영역 및 방법에 대한 검토를 수행하는 것부터 시작하는 것이 필요하다. 이를 위해 교육대상자의 수준별 한국문화교육의 체제를 조정하고 교육대상자의 프로그램별 체계를 재조정해보는 것을 고려해볼 수 있다.

This essay is to explore new ways of contemporary characteristic on theories of Korean cultural education, Grown into a global scale in the Korean education been discussed on the theories of Korean cultural education since the 1990s. Korean cultural education Theories of fundamental reflection is required, in order to respond to the changing needs for Korean cultural education academic research climate of renewal and overseas Korean education of the scene, recently in the context of growing internal and external situation of the Korean cultural education in need.
Theories of Korean cultural education have been expanded with processual- teleological standpoint and functional-instrumental standpoint. For effective Korean education which aims to cultivate the ability to communicate, it has been raised to needs for cultural education theories of culture system on the specific cultural content and syllabus of education and teaching from the 1990s. Limited to a functional role for the goal of the current Korean educational communication skills, Korean cultural education has been as comprehensive tools for Korean language education perspective standardize the training was set as the target. Although functional-instrumental standpoint, which aims to improve the communication skills with Korean cultural education, have been achieved, it is clear that the content of syllabuses, teaching methods, such as the categorization from the start of the culture and build a system, there is a need to rethink and expand the cultural education of target.
Meanwhile related to cultural education, as well as an ability to communicate and cultivate as an ability to understand and express the culture of the learning culture that emphasizes the importance of logic, unique cultural education setting goals is proposed as a processual-teleological standpoint. It has been proposed how to actively explore and build cultural capacity, due to the need of the learners that reflect the cultural perspective of the local education. According to the processual-teleological standpoint, Korean cultural education must be the aim of education is to cultivate the ability of focusing on the process of self-awareness, cultural content.
For the academic system and the educational efficiency of theories on Korean cultural education, processual-teleological standpoint have to be acted as a reflective perspective on functional-instrumental standpoint in theories on Korean cultural education. It may be considered to adjust the education level of the subjects of the Korean culture in those programs of Korean education system.
