장자의 ‘수양론修養論’으로 본 승무의 심미성 연구 (The study of aesthetics of the Buddhist dance cultivation of mind based on Chuangtzu’s Cultivation)

초록

thesis analyses the aesthetical traits of the relationship between ‘cultivation of mind’, the innate essential emotion of Buddhist dance and the mental training of Chuangtzu’s Cultivation.
The Buddhist dance expresses most importantly the human inner sensibility and mental activity, by emptying and cleaning the desire coming from the body and mind through training, it overcomes and sublimates the innate emotion of the dancing styles, which makes the dance a masterpiece. Likewise, through the costume’s smooth line manifested from the dancing styles, Buddhist dance styles, and Enjoy-hit-drum-beat based on the innate ‘cultivation of mind’ of Buddhist dance in perspective of Chuangtzu’s Cultivation, there are aesthetic traits like these.
Firstly, it can be known that elegant beauty, which creates a traditional Korean emotional atmosphere, exists in the dancer’s pitiful and faintness that artistically sublimates the human inner suffering that is shown in the Kokal(Peaked hat).
Secondly, in terms of the extrospective mechanism of Buddhist dance styles, diverse Buddhist dance styles can be seen as leading the dancer’s desire to Tao(The Way) through the humility of perservance mind. Because these dance motions change human desire into static condition, it can be understood as having the beauty of moderation which can control desires. Also, in terms of the introspective spirit, the Buddhist dance based on the philosophy of Grudge and Emptying, sublimate sadness into happiness through internal emotion expression that uses patience and perservance, there exists the beauty of grief inside it.
Thirdly, in Enjoy-hit-drum-beat, as the Jangdan’s rhythmic sense continues the style of batting through using the dynamics, combining the middle hit drum beat and drum variation, and playing fast and slow leads to an excited accompaniment.
At this point due to the feeling of cathartic excitement given by movement seasoned with traditional Heung and improvisation, there exists a beauty of dynmaic innate in Enjoy-hit-drum-beat.
