근대계몽기 석정 이정직의 시학과 시론 체계- 「與李元瑞論詩說」을 중심으로 - (A Poetry and System of Theory of Seokjeong Lee Jung Jik in the Modern Enlightenment - Centering on ‘Yeoiwonseononshisul(與李元瑞論詩說)’-)

초록

본고에서는 석정 이정직의 시학에 대한 언급을 분석하고 그의 시론 체계로서의 평담론을 밝혔다. 석정은 詩文에 매우 능통한 근대계몽기 지식인이요 교육자이다. 그의 유고인 연석산방시문고 에는 시학에 대한 그의 생각이 산재되어 있으며, 두 편의 「論詩文」과 한 편의 「論詩說」이 실려 있다.
석정의 시학은 시 창작에 중심을 두어 定義, 方法, 風格의 측면에서 좋은 시란 무엇인가? 왜 법고인가? 어떠한 경지를 추구할 것인가에 대해 논하였다. 시론 체계는 2장에서 언급한 시학 이론을 바탕으로 「與李元瑞論詩說」을이법을 통한 字從辭順의 구현, 변증을 통한 奇峭濃至의 수용, 법고의 과정을거친 平典淡雅로 분석하여 평담론을 설명하였다.
첫째, 자종사순과 이법에서는 기초농지를 통한 기교 이전에 기본적으로갖추어야 할 사항으로 자종사순을 통한 條暢易讀을 학습자에게 권장한다.
둘째, 기초농지와 변증에서는 석정은 타고난 본성이 雄渾하고 超逸한경우와 노력을 통해 성취할 수 있는 평담론을 비교 설명한다. 특히 석정이말하고 있는 평담은 新奇나 纖巧와 같은 요소를 일방적으로 배제하지 않은 ‘평담 너머 평담’이다.
셋째, 평전담아와 법고에서는 석정의 평담론을 평담에 이르는 과정과 지향점인 典雅의 모습을 자세하게 설명한다. 이는 먼저 현시대로부터 가까운시인을 학습하여 거슬러 올라가는 法古, 식견으로 辨證하는 과정을 거쳐새로운 조화의 모습을 창출하는 것이다. 그리고 그 새로운 변화의 묘미가전아이다.
요약하면 석정의 시문집 연석산방시문고 에 담긴 시학 이론들은 「논시설」을 통해 하나의 시론으로 정립된다. 그 시론 체계인 평담론은 자종사순을 기본으로 하고, 기초농지가 내포된 법고의 길을 통해 변별하고 융합하고 정련하는 일련의 절차를 거쳐, 그 묘미가 전아에 이르는 창작 방법론이다. 이러한 석정의 시론은 기본적으로 창작을 위한 學詩의 과정이며, 법고를 지향한 노력이라 할 수 있다.

영어초록

In this thesis, we analyzed the references to Seokjeong Lee Jung-jik's poetry and expressed his discourse as a system of theory, Pyeongdam Theory(平淡論).
Seokjeong is a very skilled modern Enlightenment intellectual and an educator who is very good at poetry. His posthumous work, [Yeonseoksanbang-poetry and prose], has his ideas about poetry, and contains two articles of "Discuss Poems and Sentences(論詩文)" and one of "A Poetical Argument(論詩說)." Seokjeong's poetry was based on the creation of poems and discussed the meaning of good poetry, the reasons for learning good old writings, and what we are going to pursue in terms of definition, method, and the level that poetry pursues(風格).
In system of theory, based on the poetic theory mentioned in Chapter 2, he analyzed ‘Yeoiwonseononshisul(與李元瑞論詩說)’ through the implementation of the correct order of sentences(字從辭順), acceptance of brilliant expressions (奇峭濃至) through excuses, and Pyeongjeondamea(平典淡雅) which follow the dictates of the good of the past(法古) to explain the system of Pyeongdam Theory(平淡論).
First, It is recommended that learners use a sentence that is in the order of words(字從辭順) to make it easier to read(條暢易讀), as basic things that must be done before the art of fancy expression in sentences that fit the order of words(字從辭順) and reasoning.
Second, in flamboyant expressions(奇峭濃至) and excuses, Seokjeong explains in comparison with the grand(雄渾) and transcendent(超逸) innate and Pyeongdam Theory(平淡論) that achievable through effort. In particular, Pyeongdam which Seokjeong reference is a high-level of Pyeongdam that does not unilaterally exclude weird(新奇) or subtle(纖巧) elements.
Third, In Pyeongjeondamea(平典淡雅) and following the dictates of the good, Pyeongdam theory(平淡論) of Seokjeong is explained in detail with a process leading up to Pyeongdam and elegance, which is the point of the theory. This is to create a new image of harmony through the process of learning a poet who is close to the present era and making excuses through insight. And the beauty of the new change is the gracefulness(典雅).
In summary, the poetry theories contained in the Seokjeong’s work [Yeonseoksanbang-poetry and prose] are established as a theory through "A Poetical Argument(論詩說)." Pyeongdam theory(平淡論), the system of theory, is a creative method that based on sentences that are in sequence in the order of words(字從辭順), followed by a series of procedures to distinguish, integrate, and refine ancient writings using colorful expressions(奇峭濃至). This theory of Seokjeong is basically a process of learning poetry to create a work, and is an effort to imitate a good old work.
