‘연행록사전 편찬 및 DB 구축 사업’의 성과와 활용 방안 (A Performance and Utilization of ‘Yeonhangrok Dictionary (燕行錄事典) compilation and DB construction project’)

초록

<연행록사전 편찬 및 DB구축 사업>은 500여 종의 연행록을 대상으로 3천여 개의 표제어를 추출하고 백과사전식 편찬과 디지털사전 제공을 통해 연행록을 통합적이고 거시적으로 이해하고 정리하는 데에 디딤돌을 마련하고자 하였다.
본 사업은 17세기 및 이전 시기 연행록(230종) 3년, 18세기 연행록(122종) 3년, 19세기 연행록(148종) 3년으로 수행기간을 설정하였고, 기록이 다양하고 유의미한 내용이 많은 18세기 연행록을 첫 번째 연구 대상으로 삼았다. 연행록사전의 체계는 인물⋅공간⋅사회⋅문화예술⋅물명⋅연행용어⋅연행록해제의 7가지 대주제로 구분해 표제어를 추출하고 중요도에 따라 대항목⋅중항목⋅소항목으로 구분하였다. 항목의 서술 체계는 [연관어], [일반정의], [고유정의], [용례], [출전]이다. 기본 공정은 ①원전조사 ②표제어 추출 ③원고 집필 ④연행록사전 DB구축 순이다. 이밖에 다양한 분야의 외부 전문가에게 집필을 의뢰하고, 수차례 콜로키움을 개최하여 사전 원고의 전문성과 정보력을 강화하고자 하였다. 또한 현장답사를 실시하여 연행록 노정과 주요 유적을 직접 확인하고 사진과 영상 등을 확보하였다.
지금까지 총 9년 동안 3천여 개의 표제어 원고를 완성하였고, 50여 명의 외부전문가 참여와 34회의 콜로키움 개최, 20여 편의 학술논문 양산 등의 성과를 거두었다. 향후 연행록사전 DB가 서비스된다면 연행록에 대한 대중적 접근과 이해가 용이해지고 연행록 키워드에 대한 통시적인 고찰과 변화 양상 추적 또한 가능해질 것이다. 또 특정 가문이나 집단의 연행록 집필 및 전승 양상을 살피거나 조선의 대중국 인식 및 중국 문인들과의 교류 양상 같은 양국 관계사에 관련된 작품들을 계보적으로 고찰할 계기를 마련할 것으로 기대한다.

영어초록

‘Yeonhangrok Dictionary (燕行錄事典) compilation and DB construction project’ attempted to provide a stepping stone for integrating and macroscopic understanding and organizing Yeonhangrok by extracting 3,000 title words from 500 types of Yeonhangrok, compiling encyclopedias and providing digital dictionaries.
In this project, set the study period for three years of 17th and previous Yeonhangrok (230 types), three years of 18th-century Yeonhangrok(122 types), and three years of 19th-century Yeonhangrok(148 types), and first targeted 18th-century Yeonhangrok with various records and many meaningful contents.
The Yeonhangrok dictionary's heading system reflects the diversity of Yeonhangroks, and it is divided into seven main themes: people, space, society, culture and arts, names of things, Yeonhang terms, and Commentary on the Yeonhangrok, and classified the heading into three categories: major, medium, and small items according to importance. The basic narrative system of the item is 'associated word', 'general definition', 'unique definition', 'example', and 'source'. The basic process of the project is in the order of ①original survey, ②headword extraction, ③manuscript writing, ④Yeonhangrok dictionary DB construction. In particular, external experts in various fields were asked to write, and several colloquiums were held to reinforce the expertise and information power of the advance manuscript. In addition, an on-site survey was conducted to directly check the travel route and major historical sites, and photos and videos were secured.
As a result, over 3,000 headwords were written over a total of nine years of research, and various achievements were achieved, including the participation of more than 50 outside experts, 34 colloquiums, and the mass production of more than 20 academic papers. Public access and understanding of Yeonhangroks will be much easier if a Yeonhangrok dictionary DB is established and serviced in the future. Additionally, diachronic consideration and tracking of changes in Yeonhangrok keywords like people and spaces will be possible. It is anticipated that it will provide an opportunity to examine the Yeonhangrok writing and transmission patterns of a specific family or group, or to Genealogical Study related to the history of bilateral relations, such as Joseon's perception of China and exchanges with Chinese writers.
