아리랑축제 관련 문화유산과 소리축제 (A Study on Arirang festival relation cultural heritage and Sori(sound in music) festival)

초록

아리랑축제의 정체성(正體性) 연구는 아리랑에 대해 종합예술적 접근과 수요층의 다양한 소통방식을 살펴야 드러난다. 소리문화유산 관련 축제는 다른 테마축제와 달리 예술성과 대중성, 현재성이 내재되어 있다. 전주세계소리축제 연구 역시 이 점에 크게 벗어나지 않는다. 아리랑축제의 활성화 대안이 역동적인 공연예술축제이면서 민족문화의 상징성(象徵性) 찾기에 두는 것도 아리랑축제 연구의 또 다른 시각일 수 있다. 아리랑축제의 연구방향은 아리랑의 축제항목 발굴과 문화상품 창출 과정의 문제점까지 논의가 확대되고 있는 상황이다.
아리랑의 상징성은 남북 모두 한민족문화의 대표 아이콘으로 명시하고 있다. 아리랑의 정체성은 한국 민요의 역사성과 민속성 그리고 현재성 등과 긴밀하게 맞물려 있다. 소리문화유산에 바탕을 둔 전주세계소리축제는 축제의 전문성과 정체성 확보를 위해 노력하고 있다. 이 글에서는 전주소리축제에서 보이는 소리문화유산 관련 자원의 활용법을 아리랑축제의 미래를 위해 비교근거로 삼아 쟁점화하였다.
아리랑축제는 테마축제, 관광축제, 교육축제, 화합축제 등의 성격을 기반으로 해야 한다. 그리고 상생과 신명의 축제라는 정체성을 확보해야 한다. 아리랑축제는 소리축제의 차별성이 있고 앞서 살핀대로 한민족 공감대의 울림이라는 가능성이 있다. 뗏목아리랑 관련 축제만 하더라도 정선, 영월, 인제 등 여러 곳에서 산발적으로 진행하고 있다. 아리랑의 지역축제 항목에 편입된 사례로 정선, 밀양, 진도 등 여러 곳이 있다. 그러나 아리랑 관련 축제는 독자적인 경쟁력을 확보하지 못했다. 그리고 네트워크 순회의 축제성도 살리지 못하고 있는 실정이다.
소리축제는 팩션 감각의 기획력이 요구된다고 진단하였다. 보수적 전통형 축제는 이벤트형 축제든 킬러콘텐츠의 발상이 필요하다. 경쟁력 있는 축제 만들기에는 전통적 감성과 상상력이 상생되어야 한다고 보았다. 킬러콘텐츠의 구성력과 제도적 정비가 절실하다. 무형문화재의 원론적 창조유전자를 살리되, 특별한 민족미학의 연출력이 있어야 한다.
아리랑축제는 아리랑 구연 연고지 중심의 전통적 문화행사다. 소리축제 역시 판소리 연고권을 바탕으로 한 이벤트형 문화행사다. 아리랑축제는 아리랑의 유네스코 세계문화유산 등재라는 무형문화재적 잠재력 염두에 둔 지역별 아리랑민요의 축제상품화로 광풍이 불고 있으며, 소리축제는 등재 인정으로 특정 지역과 특정 지식인들이 중심이 되어 자랑할 만한 세계축제로 키우겠다는 전략이 존재하고 있다. 둘 다 체계적인 개발이 미흡한 실정이다.
더구나 판소리와 아리랑은 아직 만남이 적었다. 지나치게 축제의 외향에 매달리다가 보니 소프트 항목의 내향 실속이 없다. 소리문화유산의 미래를 염두에 둘 때 소비자 중심의 감동 극대화가 필요하다. 축제의 생산자, 유통자, 소비자가 화쟁하는 건강함, 생명력, 역사성, 보편적 가치, 창조적 상상력 등의 명품축제적 요건이 두루 녹아 있어야 할 것이다. 따라서 전통적 기반에 둔 아리랑축제는 소리축제의 기획 예술성을 수용할 필요가 있고 소리축제는 고유의 지방색을 살리면서 세계적인 표적 시장성을 확보해야 할 것이라고 주문하고 싶다.

영어초록

Arirang festival is a symbolic characteristic of Korean culture. The research for identity of Arirang festival requires a composite art approach and a various kind of communication of demand class about Arirang. Festivals related to cultural heritage of voice should be focused on artistry, popularity and nowness. The research for Chonju International Sori Festival also does not deviate from this point. The alternatives for revitalization of Arirang festival is necessary to Arirang festival. The identity of Arirang is closey tied to historical and racial characteristics of Korean folk song and nowness. Officials of Chonju International Sori Festival are endeavoring to procure a specificity and an identity as a festival. In this article, the efficient use of resources related to Sori cultural heritage, which is shown at Chonju International Sori Festival, was discussed specifically.
Arirang festival is based on the characters of theme festival, sightseeing festival, education festival, and harmony festival. Arirang festival must secure the identity of coexistence and excitation as a festival. Arirang festival is different from Sori festival, and also it is a sensibility of the Korean race. Festivals related to Raft-Arirang are held in Jeongseon, Yeongwol and Inje. However, they are too sporadic. Also Arirang festival has not secured the independent competitiveness yet. Arirang festival did not even support the actual network as a festival.
Sori festival requires a well-designed planning from the power of faction. Both a tradition-style festival and an event-style festival need ideas of killer contents. To become a competitive festival, traditional sensibility and imagination should be interdepend from each other. Organization of killer contents and institutional maintenance must be prepared for the festival. Also, they need to support the theoretical creative gene of intangible cultural assets, and production power of special national aesthetics should be brought together for harmony.
Arirang festival is a traditional cultural event focused on the hometown of Arirang oral narration. Sori festival is an event-style cultural event focused on the hometown of Pansori oral narration. Arirang festival added Arirang to the World heritage list and has commercialized the fesitival of Arirang folk song. Pansori was also registered as the World heritage of UNESCO. Sori feistival focuses on the possibility of becoming a world festival.
However, Both festivals lack the systematic development. In addition, Pansori and Arirang have not gained any chance of cultural exchange to each other. They both depended too much on the outward appearances as festivals. Thus, they do not have any inner beauty or solid contents inside of the festival. They both were mere shows. The future of Sori cultural heritage should be considered carefully. The maximization of the consumer focused system should also be prepared for development. To be able to achieve theses, requirements such as universal values, historical values and life forces as a festival must be united harmoniously. Therefore, the tradtional based Arirang festival needs to embrace the artistic value of Sori fesitival. On the other hand, Sori festival should procure the market that targets the world while maintaining local color.
