초록

이 논문은 땅설법으로 전하는 『안락국태자경』의 자료를 예증삼아 이 구전서사시의 다면적이고 다층적인 의미를 환기하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특히 조선 초기 불교서사시로 평가되는 『월인천강지곡』의 동일한 내용을 다면적으로 확장한 변상도 등을 추적하고, 동시에 이른 바 변문이나 강창문학의 의미를 확대하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 땅설법의 『안락국태자경』은 현재에도 전승되는 소중한 전거가 된다. 본전이 아닌 형태로 별전의 주종목이 된 이 경전은 현재의 전승 상황을 이해할 수 있는 중요한 가치를 가진다. 구전서사시와 변상도라는 불교의 그림 전통 등을 아울러 갖추고 있다.
더욱 중요한 사실은 이러한 다면성이 역사적 다층성을 형성하고 여러 층위의 다양함을 구현하기도 한다. 우리는 왕조서사시와 불교서사시가 훈민정음의 창제와 깊은 관련이 있는 악장이고, 동시에 기록서사시의 전통을 이룩한 것으로 알았다. 이러함에도 불구하고 안정사에 전승되는 땅설법을 보니 심층적인 진실은 그것이 아니었다. 불교서사시의 전통이 기록서사시로 고정된 것은 아니고, 실제적인 연행을 통하여 가변적인 의미를 확대하는 형태의 서사시임을 분명하게 한다. 읽고 읊조리는 율문의 형태가 아니라, 이것을 가지고 함께 노래하고 찬양하면서 구비적인 완결성과 의미적 정합성을 지니는 특정한 것임을 새삼스럽게 깨달을 수 있었다.
게다가 16세기와 18세기에 조형된 변상도에 별전 『안락국태자경』의 층위를 확인하게 되는 것은 이들의 절 건립이나 절에서 연행되는 땅설법의 다양한 형태와 층위를 보여주는 결정적인 자료가 된다. 평면적으로 그려진 것이 진실은 아니다. 평면을 넘어서서 다층위적 양상을 보여주는 것은 정말로 소중한 형태의 의미를 완성하는 것이라고 할 수 있다. 그러한 점에서 땅설법으로 하는 별전 『안락국태자경』은 다층위적 산물이다.
대략 1500년을 압축하면서 과도한 시기에 땅설법이 지금까지 전승되는 것은 거의 기적에 가까운 일이라고 할 수 있다. 이 실제적인 현상에 기초하여 우리나라 땅설법의 삼국남북국 시대로 환원하고 동시에 고려시대와 조선시대, 일제강점기를 거치면서 어떻게 전하였는지 분명하게 알 수 있는 소중한 계기를 부여하게 된다. 전승의 결과를 통하여 우리는 이 시금석이 지니는 위대한 불교민속의 역사를 다시금 환기하게 된다. 역사적으로 전승되는 전체를 복구하고 불교 역사를 성찰하는 것은 중요한 자각의 계기가 될 전망이다.

영어초록

The purpose of this paper is to evoke the multifaceted and multi-layered meaning of this oral epic poem by exemplifying the data of the "Sutra of the Anrakguk" delivered in the ground method. In particular, the purpose is to track the multi-faceted expansion of the same contents of Wolincheongangjigok, which is evaluated as a Buddhist epic in the early Joseon Dynasty, and at the same time, to expand the meaning of eloquence or Gangchang(講唱) literature. The "Prince's Sutra of the Anrakguk" in the earth-snowing style is a valuable precedent that is still handed down today. This scripture, which has become the main event of a separate exhibition in the form of a main temple, has an important value to understand the current transmission situation. It has both oral epic poems and Buddhist painting traditions called Byun Sang-do(變相圖).
More importantly, this multifacetedness forms historical multilayeredness and also embodies diversity at various levels. We knew that dynastic epic and Buddhist epic were movements closely related to the creation of Hunminjeongeum, and at the same time, they achieved the tradition of record epic poetry. Nevertheless, the in-depth truth was not that when looking at the ground snow technique handed down to Anjeongsa Temple. It makes it clear that the tradition of Buddhist epic poetry is not fixed as a record epic, but is a form of epic poetry that expands its variable meaning through practical performance. I was able to realize anew that it was not a form of Yulmun(verse), which was read and recited, but a particular thing that had substantial completeness and semantic consistency while singing and praising it together.
In addition, confirming the layers of the annex "Prince's Sutra of the Anrakguk" on Byeonsangdo Island, which was shaped in the 16th and 18th centuries, is a decisive data showing the various forms and layers of the construction of their temple or the ground snow carried out by the temple. It's not true that it's drawn flat. It can be said that showing a multi-layered aspect beyond the plane is completing a truly precious form of meaning. In this regard, the separate exhibition "Prince's Sutra of the Anrakguk," which is used as a ground snow method, is a multi-layered product.
It can be said that it is almost a miracle that the ground snowflake has been passed down until now at an excessive time, compressing about 1,500 years. Based on this practical phenomenon, it is returned to the era of the Three Kingdoms of the Three Kingdoms of Korea, and at the same time, it gives a valuable opportunity to clearly know how it was conveyed through the Goryeo Dynasty, the Joseon Dynasty, and Japanese colonial era. Through the results of the transmission, we are reminded of the history of the great Buddhist folklore of this touchstone. Restoring the entire historical transmission and reflecting on Buddhist history is expected to be an important opportunity for awareness.
