펜디 컬렉션에 나타난 투명성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Transparency Appearing in the Fendi Collection)

초록

투명성 패션은 신체를 직접적인 노출이 아닌 투시를 통해 연상 심리를 활용한 간접적이고 은유적인 방법으로 에로티시즘을 표현한 것이라 할 수 있는데, 투명 패션의 발전은 단순한 디자인의 변화가 아닌 과학 기술 분야의 진보와 더불어 다양한 실험으로 표현의 영역을 확대시키고 있다. 그러나 이에 비해 투명성 패션의 연구가 활발하게 진행되지 않고 있은 것이 오늘날의 현실이다. 이러한 사실을 바탕으로 현대패션에 등장하고 있는 투명성 패션을 이해하고 미적기준을 마련하고자 연구를 시작하게 되었다. 본 연구는 펜디(Fendi)라는 특정 브랜드를 선정하여 현대패션에서 어떠한 양상으로 투명 패션이 등장하고 있는지 살펴본 후, 투명성 패션의 조형성을 분석하는데 연구목적이 있다. 펜디를 중심으로 하고자 한 이유는 1977년 칼 라커펠트가 Ready To Wear(RTW)를 런칭 한 후 지금까지도 동일 디자이너에 의해 브랜드가 진행되어 현대패션의 흐름이 잘 반영된 디자인과 디자이너의 철학이 잘 드러나 있다고 생각하였기 때문이다. 연구 방법으로는 먼저 문헌연구를 통해 투명성의 용어정의를 하고 조형예술을 통해 투명성이 표현된 사례를 살펴보았고 둘째, 펜디 브랜드의 연보와 디자인특징을 문헌을 중심으로 고찰함으로써 연구의 토대를 마련하였다. 사례연구는 펜디 컬렉션에서 투명성이 표현된 이미지를 2000년에서 2017년 까지 Ready To Wear (RTW)컬렉션에서 발표된 1851개 디자인 중 투명성이 표현된 453점을 수집하여 실루엣, 아이템, 색채, 소재, 문양 순으로 분류하여 조형적 특징을 분석하였다. 그 결과 펜디에 표현된 투명성은 관능성, 여성성, 환상성, 혁신성, 공간성의 조형성이 도출되었다. 펜디 컬렉션을 통해 살펴본 투명 패션은 투시를 통한 신체의 노출 보다는 투명한 소재에 의한 시각적 효과로 중첩과 그라데이션, 빛의 반사와 투시, 투명과 불투명의 대비로 시각 촉각 지각을 촉발하는 디자인으로 활용되었다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구가 펜디를 통해 투명성 패션의 이해를 도모하고 더 나아가 아직 뚜렷하게 정립되지 않았던 투명성 패션의 디자인 효과에 대한 이론의 틀을 마련하는데 그 의의가 있다.

영어초록

The transparent fashion is to express the eroticism in an indirect and metaphorical way using the associationism through the penetration not the direct exposure; the development of transparent fashion is expanding the domain of expression by various tests with the progress of technology not the simple change of design. However, it is today’s reality that the study of transparent fashion is not conducted actively compared with it. The purpose of this study is to analyze the formativeness of the transparent fashion after selecting certain brand called Fendi and examining how the transparent fashion is appearing in the modern fashion. When it comes to the study method, the term of transparency was defined through the literature study first and the cases that transparency was expressed were examined through the formative art. Second, the foundation of study was arranged by considering the chronology of brand Fendi and design feature focusing on the literature. When it comes to the case study, 453 designs expressing the transparency were collected among 1851 ones which were launched in RTW collection from 2000 to 2017 and the formative feature was analyzed by classifying into the silhouette, item, color, material, and pattern. As a result, the formativeness such as the appealability, femininity, fantasy, innovativeness, and spatiality was drawn from the transparency expressed in Fendi. It was confirmed that the transparency fashion examined through the Fendi collection was a visual effect by the transparent material rather than the physical exposure through the penetration and was used as a design touching off the sight, touch, and perception by the overlapping, gradation, reflection and penetration of light, contrast of transparency and opacity. This study is significant in promoting the understanding of transparency fashion through Fendi and arranging a framework of theory on the design effect of the transparency fashion which has not yet established clearly.
