캐나다 토론토 한국 이민자들의 한복실태 연구 (A Study of the Current Condition of Korean Immigrants' Hanbok in Toronto, Canada)

초록

This study focuses on the current condition of Korean immigrants' hanbok in Toronto, Canada from a survey compiled from June to July 2012. The respondents were 100 Korean couples who live in Toronto as immigrants. 128 people of the total respondents had hanbok; they consisted of 75 women and 53 men. The survey showed 89% of the men and 15.4% of the women of those questioned didn't want to wear hanbok. The other women wanted to wear hanbok on New year's day, their wedding day, the first birthday party, Korean cultural day, and Easter day. 56.5% of the respondents didn't want to buy hanbok but most of the other people wanted to buy it through an acquaintance or friend who lives in Korea. In addition, most of the women preferred to have a pink chima(skirt) and jegori(blouse). We can recognize that women's interests in hanbok is higher than men's and that women have used hanbok on more occasions than men. This is the same as the current situation in Korea.
